  1. Hello You lovely People

I purchaced a 2015 DVT about 1 month ago .. has 10k miles and i love the thing.
I noticed a little issue when out the other night .... i was cruiing at 70mph, when I opened the throttle to get out the way of a situation the bike did not pull to a point i felt it had a fault ... i tried again any it felt the same .. i can to a round about bike pulled fine to 50mph and i didnt have a chance to check after this ... before this I had noticed a flat spot when accelerating fron 2nd to 4th .... is this a common issue with the DVT or does this look to be a fault.
    If any one ca advise
Bike is on standard Can with Cat still in place.
    Thanks
    Mick

  2. I’m not sure about the DVT but on the previous model that I have the first place I’d be looking is to see if the exhaust valve has stuck? A common issue on the older Multi’s?

  3. Thanks for the reply... ohhh ok ... the bike does pop and bang on down shifts (sometimes on upshifts) in 2nd and 3rd more than I would expect from a standard stock exhaust.

  4. Yep, as above, check the exhaust valve is fully cycling on ign on. Is it showing any CEL light or faults?
Having finally sorted mine out, it now pulls like a train. I had faulty spark plug leads...

  5. Yeah will do thank you ... i did read on a forum on here about removing the butterfly on the valve as it makes no diffrence to the bike .... i want to stick a Arrow de-cat and end can as soon as i can sell a kidney .... again I have read this opens the bike up and stops the flat spots.

  6. My DVT on a stock system has no flat spot :). It will almost certainly be that butterfly sticking. Everytime I take the wheel out, or the silencer cover off - I lube up that spindle to try and keep it free running :)

  7. Great to know .... if that sorts it I am happy to keep the stock system as I like the look of the standard pipes and the sound .... i am away at the moment but will attack it on Friday for sure.

  8. Ok ... i pulled the exhaust apart and the butterfly is moving freely by hand ... is this a true sign all is OK, I have seen on one of these forums about removing the butterfly as the ECU still thinks this is working and this eliminates the flat spots and the lack of power in higher revs.

    Has anyone removed this

I greased up the mech and the spindle with HT Grease so will take it out for a spin in between the showers and see if there is any diffrence.

  9. The simplest thing is to buy a Duc-ee from vizi-tec in the US and connect it to the plug that currently is plugged into the servo motor that operates the valve. Then make sure the valve is in the open position and remains in the open position.

  10. When you say flat spot, is it still running smoothly at that point or is it misfiring? When I had trouble with mine, on a full throttle it would seem to be only running on one cyl and badly!

  11. Hello
She runs silky smooth ... idles fine... when on the power there was some hesitation mid range, felt like TC cutting in but the day before I posted this from 70mph + it had no go.
I think it maybe the exhaust valve looking at other forums and the advise on here, I will install a Duc-ee or remove the butterfly from the exhaust (cheaper option) to see if this solves it before taking it in to a dealer.

  12. Plenty of threads on here about removing the flap.
Most likely that’s your problem, better to remove now while waiting for your decat pipe.
