Got to admit I REALLY don’t like the look. IMO they’ve lost Italian design style for the sake of their engineering objectives. Doesn’t stand out at all even if they dress it up a bit. Hope I’m wrong come October.

I wouldn’t worry about it. If you recall the original spy shots, the bike had a 17" front wheel and SSSA. I reckon this recent mule is a test bike for the radar cruise.
i bet for 2 versions!standar with 19 front and the normal swingarm and pikes peak with 17i and maybe sssa.
I’m hoping someone with more money than sense will feel the need to have the latest and greatest at whatever cost and I can pick up their “hardly used” 1260 for a good deal less?
Yes but look at the size of the rear with the caliper on top of the disc. Looks to have a much lower saddle height. Andy
a few calls and some answers, all be it non committal. The V4 is definitely coming. Dealers cannot currently order a 1260 or 1260 S, but can order 950, 950S and 1260 enduro. Speculation is therefore the 1260 and 1260S are not in production now, to be replaced by the V4. No firm ideas on what the spec will be. It is likely there will be a base V4 and an S, but not how they differ. That includes colours, although Red is highly likely I asked whether there will be a touring or GT version, with luggage, but they don't know yet. It is also likely the new V4 won't have a Single sided swinging arm any more (although when a pikes peak model comes out that might) And engine changes could see it have less bhp than the street fighter, but longer service intervals. Oh, and the current 4 year warranty, which might come in handy Dealers will see them at their international conference in October. Hopefully official specs etc will come out after that. Ducati may well do an internet reveal at that time too, likely to be the only real way to see one this year. Given there is no Eicma show this year its not quite clear when punters will get the opportunity to see one for real, until dealer demos arrive next year. So everything is about as clear as it was before I made the calls, except its confirmed they are on the way And on that basis I've paid a deposit, price, spec, colour and options all to be confirmed Hopefully this one might arrive, unlike the Norton I ordered
A performance version might well step on the toes of V4 Street fighter sales. I think the V4 Multi will be more touring orientated as the photos suggest.
who wouldnt love a streetfigher gt?(with the same approach like super duke gt)with small-medium fairings,side panniers and the ability to have the wife together without complaining!and a small engine retune for more mid power!!! i believe that this could be a really great bike.
Too many bikes in a range means they don't make any money on any of them. I have been told the V4 Multi will come in one version and the buyer then specs it up as they wish via various packs - touring, sports, etc. The bike is built in the factory to the order.
yes,but its better to have a model in every category and dont leave the competitors free to play. so,with 1260s out of the range what will ducati have to compete to 1000xr and sd gt?none?i dont believe so... and yes,maybe you spec the bike as you want like bmw but that means 3-4 months of waiting. so the dealer will probably order for there shops to have available full spec bikes with almost every pack.and very expensive!so you leave the store with a bike or you wait a lot for your bike. like car market.
