Abarth 595

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Monsterped, Aug 18, 2020.

  1. I like them.they look great and sound great.
But last week when i just came from the highway where i did about 180km/h in my golf.
I saw a flashy green abarth, looked great in that color.
But i really wonderd,in my car you hardly feel that you do 180.
But how does that feel in a fiat 500??

    Henk!!!

  2. F. fast! would probably be the answer, make your competent golf feel slow :D

  3. :)
    Fast or scary?
If your does not scare you a little your not goiing fast enough.
So maybe i was not goiing fast enough then or i need an abarth as well.
What is the difference between the normal abarth and the 595?

    Henk!!!!

  4. 0-60 is between 6.5 and 7.8 seconds depending on whether you’ve got the 140bhp or the 180.

The 180’s will do around 140 but they take a million years to get there.

The MTA gearbox is shite as well. Same pig of a unit they stuck in the 4c (breathed on). It really wanted a double clutch job

  5. Just get a Citroen C1.

    Much cooler.

  6. My mate just sold a Rosso (the one you get for ‘darling’ when you buy a Ferrari). I think it had a Termi system on it, sounded great... definitely a limited edition but he broke even with it.

  7. Bright enough to make your eyes bleed!

  8. I had a 2008 r56 Mini Cooper s 184bhm (or there abouts) it was awesome and I nearly bought an abarth but it just wasn’t as well screwed together as the mini so didn’t

  9. I had an R53 John Cooper Works before they were so common, carbon fibre dash, 18” JCW wheels etc. Supercharger whine was addictive and IIRC 210 bhp. Proper good fun.
Sold it as needed a car kids could learn to drive in : unamused:

  13. My pal has a competionzine or however it’s spelt, remapped to 200 bhp. His daughter pulled the seat release on the back to hard. £400 to fix as the seat had to come apart!

  14. See that’s the point it feels fast it actually gives feel where as a lot of cars or whatever are soulless they are so refined which in some cases is good but fun and feel . Old stuff is slow but feels ace I bet a c90 on a field would still be ace fun

  15. Completely agree, for the road not much would feel faster than a MG midget (sod that for a game of soldiers though :D)

  16. Thanks for all your thoughts.

looked at a Turismo this morning, immaculate, test drove - what a hoot.

it’s now sitting on the drive with a very happy wife in it figuring the Bluetooth out!
