Seat Covers

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Notshortnottall, Aug 25, 2020.

  1. What's the general consensus on these? I've got a 749 which I'm changing lots of bits on and I'm not a big fan of the original seat material. I've always liked the look of suede/alcantara but I know that can have some issues when wet.

Having seen some seat covers for c.60 quid but could also take to a local trimmers and have the material replaced for about double that price.

Just after some feedback on those who have been there before and their experiences?

  2. My 1098 had a worn Ducati Performance neoprene seat on it when i bought it, I've since re-covered it with a cover from 'saxon seats' on ebay.. ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D07-Duca...826969?hash=item3b4b5364d9:g:7JUAAOxyHslQ6Dxp ) really easy to fit with some spray contact adhesive and an upholstery staple gun.

The one I have is Vinyl, I think I may replace it with suede in the future, I never take the bike out in the rain so water resistance isn't an issue

  3. I have suede but I also don't go out in rain. I like that I can rough it up and re-dye it when needed. Some Scottish guard spray protects well against water should I get caught out.

Great choice. I had a really neat one on my HP4. Easy to fit and quality materials, lots of choice.
