1299 Quickshifter Replacement Options

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by DRR117, Aug 27, 2020.

  1. So another eventful day at donington let down by an OEM quickshifter fault meant another day riding around old school with no shifting assistance. :scream:

so looking at my options. Anyone recommend an aftermarket part that shifts and blips that’s plug and play and more reliable than the OEM 1299 shifter?

  2. Translogic matey :upyeah:

  3. We’re you at Donington yesterday?? Wasn’t the greatest was it?? A red flag/ambulance fest in the morning and biblical rain in the afternoon :( I only got 2 sessions. 2 red flags in the 1st- one on the sighting laps :D

Oh, I changed to a plug and play HM quick shifter (V4S)

  4. Yeah it wasn’t the best day. Shame for Dean Ellison as it was suppose to be their shops birthday bash and it was a bit of a disaster. Still had fun, got to meet Guintoli and got some wet practice in :)

Been eyeing up the HM shifter. Which version did you get as there are a couple of options

  6. Rispec!! I heard a few bikes flying past when it was pissing down... and remember thinking ‘fuck that’ as I packed up

Yeah, the Ellison lot seemed a decent bunch. Shame it didn’t turn out great. I donated a tenner for the golden ticket they couldn’t find,:laughing:

I see there is a new release from HM. Dunno about it. Not bloody cheap though are they? Mine has been faultless since fitting.

  7. Yeah they aren’t cheap but a replacement unit for the pani from Ducati is £250 and when you think 3 of them will probably expire before the HM  it kinda makes it cheap :joy:

never tried wets before so went out for a couple of tentative sessions to try and get use to them. It was a tad on the moist side tho. :splat::splat:

  8. I fitted a Cordura one to my MV, plug and play and a lot better than the OE one, think they do them for Duc too?

  9. Translogic for me. Plugnplay. Only comes as a shift rod swap out though. If you want something that has kill time adjustement etc then
    look elsewhere.

  10. I’ve got the HM-Plant direct replacement on my V4. The jury is still out at the moment. It’s not bad, but it isn’t the order of magnitude better that I was expecting.

  11. Think you mean Cordona?

  12. I have had HM on a 1098S and it was OK. I was surprised when I put a Healtech (which it seems to be trendy to put down) on my track bike and I can't fault it.

  13. Heard a lot of positive things about Translogic :upyeah:

  15. Just had my V4 unit replaced under warranty after it failed completely with down shifting! I was told from the dealer that it wasn’t an issue they were familiar with, and they certainly hadn’t seen any issues or warranty claims for the OE unit failing, Funny thing is when they ordered the part I was told the unit would be the newer V3 module ;) The fact of the matter is it’s well documented with having issues! Not sure why they have to gloss it over as if it’s very uncommon for the unit to fail:thinkingface:

  16. Both my mate and me have had failures, luckily his was just under warranty
