Hello, I just bought a 2010 Hypermotard 796 with 24k miles. Noticed the cover of (after a good amount of searching is the fuel pump) is leaking and covered with dirt. While looking around, found that the pump has only one ring. What I’m worried about is fuel coming out and if so what should I do other than catch the fuel? Is this a common problem? Shall I do anything else while it’s at that point? I couldn’t resist getting my first Ducati but pretty nervous getting into them. So I’m thankful to have a helpful place like this with their members.
There was a recall on this model in USA but 2011 onwards, would it not be worth checking with either your local Ducati dealer or the American importers if they will honour this on your 2010 model? https://www.roadracingworld.com/new...ers-hypermotards-due-to-potential-fuel-leaks/
It seems this fella had the same issue as you. https://www.ducati.ms/threads/fuel-leak-coming-from-flange.710986/
Thank you so much for this. I’ll try to contact them and show them pictures of what I’m talking about. Maybe they’d consider it.
