Electrical Component Identification

  1. Stripping down my 1998 916 ans have came across some dodgy or should I say bodgey wiring . What is the component and is it possible to get a replacement part?

  2. Problem is it is no longer long enough, am i able to get a whole new part?
     
  3. You can solder some new wires onto the alternator inside the alternator cover. I actually used some 3 core rubber flexible cable used for Powertools etc. It had the perfect diameter to seal where it comes through the casting. Fitted a new connector to the cable and the rectifier and it's been perfect ever since. The original wiring got fried and brittle so I'm not surprised to see yours had this "fix".
