Hi guys, looked everywhere but can't find it. I believe the Desmo's changed the gearing for the starter to make them start better. I have a 2000 996SPS which has 70 teeth on the big gear. Is this the later/best version? Cheers Bront
Ask Rich at Lougi Moto, he sorted mine out as the original gearing was a bit poor with a high comp motor.
Thanks Duc, I've fired off an email to him. So you have had this done to your bike? How much of a difference did it make? Was it worth the expense?
Yes mine was done at the same time I had some engine work done. It starts way easier even with a lightweight battery and I would consider it a worthwhile mod.
