  1. just bought a new ducati performance presure plate. never done any engine work on a duke before so a little aprehensive. any tips? whats the difficulty level? looked on net for how to vids but nout. thanks in advance.

  2. It's a dead easy job BUT...it is all too easy to over tighten the allen studs that hold down the springs. Get yourself a torque wrench, look up the torque and do it right. But overall, it's a doddle.

  3. got all the kit and tools. just wanted to make sure theres no hidden suprises thats not in the book. cheers

  4. As Ascalon says be careful doing up the allen bolts, just nipp them up then a tiny, and i mean tiny, tweek and thats it, dont be afraid of it its only a bike after all, let us know how you get on :upyeah:

  5. there are some vide on you tube
but DONT overtighten the post bolts (its something low like 6nm) don't use threadlock and remember line up the slotted post with the mark on the plate
also when drifting the push rod out of the old cover make sure it lands on something soft so as not to damage it

apart from that nothing too hard

  6. That's it. As has been said, it is a careful, as opposed to difficult, job but don't be afraid of it. A sensible approach and you'll be grand. :)

  7. Worth changing the springs while there? And what springs recommend?

  8. Nah, you can just measure the springs to see if the are spec length. If not then consider changing ther set but after 40k miles, mine were fine.

  9. oem springs will go rusty

    buy some stainless ones
i have oberon springs and seem to be very good afaik

  10. one i dont ride in wet and 2 its only done 7k miles. i'll leave the springs then ta.

  11. It does not need to be out in the rain, the moisture in the atmosphere will make them rust
