Heated Grips Pani V2

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by meng, Sep 26, 2020.

  1. I am planning to ride my v2 through winter . Has anyone fitted heated grips on the v2 some posts have said there is a function on the dash but cant see heated grips as an option. Do
Oxford grips make the bars too thick

  2. The Ducati heated grips plug into the loom and are controlled by the dash but the feature has to be enabled by a dealer using the Ducati diagnostic tool.

  3. Do you know if the 899 had the ability to fit OE heated grips?

  4. I’d be interested in this for the 959. If it’s an option, I’ll have a word with my mate and see he if can enable it with his Texa.

  5. On the Scrambler they have the facility to plug in to the loom and are operated using the starter button when the bike is running, cycling through off>low>medium>high and then back to off.

I’m old now and like my creature comforts, one of the great joys of my old HP4 was heated grips... :bucktooth:

    Thanks!

  6. Same on my previous MTS1200 but on my Supersport they are operated through the menu using the buttons on the LH switchgear.

  7. My ‘20 Scrambler 1100 has the OEM heated grips and they operate via the LH switchgear. You cycle through the menu, enter Heated Grips and then choose low/med/high/off using the up and down function.
If they weren’t enabled by the dealer the menu option wouldn’t appear.

  8. Can’t find a spare connector for heated grips in the workshop manual. I’m off to see my mate tomorrow to see if the Texa shows the option to enable them.

  9. The 959 handbook doesn't mention heated grips as a menu option. So it's my guess that it isn't available.

  10. Don't think heated grips were a Ducati option on the 959.

  11. Is it for V2 and has anyone tried ducati oem heated grips ? Are they hot the bmw one is useless compared to oxford or honda ones

  12. Who’d fit heated grips to a super bike anyway! :D

Really don’t want to fit the Oxford jobbies as stashing that ugly control box out of sight would be a mission. Heard good stuff about the R&G ones but going to try the grip buddies first to help with my white finger then may have a look at the heated gloves on offer.

  13. Try the ktm dirt bike ones. Nowt flash control unit wise, but easy to fit and small. All they are is a foil element that you stick to the bars
then slide a standard grip over the top.

  14. Keis heated grips are the most subtle I've seen. Each grip is controlled individually with a button on the grip.

  15. The Koso ones look pretty good, but I'd have liked to have kept it OEM.

  16. Having had heated grips in the not too distant past I think I’d rather invest in heated gloves, as they warm the back of your hands and your thumbs too, which heated grips don’t.

  17. Grips for the palms and inners, gloves for the back and thumbs... toasty hands! The RST Paragon gloves are good, and not too expensive or bulky.

  18. Have to agree. The heated grips only go so far. You’ll be putting your hand under the grips to warm the back of them.
Keis heated gloves will keep everything toasty and can be subtle (take the chill off) or HOT.
Just buy ones that you can use (I hate bulky gloves), otherwise you’ll never wear them.

  19. I specified heated grips on my new Monster 1200s. I've tried them a few times on chilly early morning rides now and wish I'd saved the £200 they cost. I can barely feel them with my gloves on and they are not that hot when i grip them using bare hands. I think heated gloves would be a better bet.
