For Sale Thinking Of Selling My 749 Bp Track Bike. What's It Worth?

Discussion in 'Ducati Bikes For Sale' started by chizel, Sep 30, 2020.

  1. Thats very cool! I bet not cheap as that is many containers! I do like the look and the idea but I'm a chippy... I could put containers together and do all the fit out no prob but I'd rather build from scratch.

  2. Its pretty popular already in nz from what I hear but not my bag at all...

  5. The bits might be worth more back in NZ.?? It's easier to get ducati parts here. Just a thought.
Didn't know you were going back mate......there's a lot of us going back, I would consider it..except I have 3 kids to look after and they are still completing education here.

  6. Wrong, there are several Ducati "Wreckers" in NZ, so parts aplenty, and trademe.co.nz is awash with Ducatis, most are Jap imports, but plenty of NZ new and Imports from other countries as well.

  7. Would there be any advantage/easier to import if you stripped your bike into big lumps and shipped it as 'spares'? You could then assemble it for track use?

  8. I don't know the rules, but i was thinking this as well, since it is a track bike there is no need to register it for the road, get a plate, WOF or anything.

  13. Struggle breaking it anymore...just needs to sell the yellow one :upyeah:

    I’ll swap the monkey

  14. As a guide, I just sold my k4 750 that had full track and road bodywork, engine thats started and ran, only 3300 miles but hard ones, with over a grand of suspension for 1600. Thats running nd needs a bit of patience, touch of knowhow and a few hours and its ready to go.

I'd suspect a broken 749 with little history and scruffy to be even less.

Only way would be break it. Even then 2k may be a stretch depending on state of wheels and if suspicion is not just boggo standard showa/marz whatever they stuck on 749's. Frame maybe worth 3-500 quid as someone would buy to add on their nicked bike and sell on... subframe is bip so maybe £50-100, wheels may push £3-500 if clean and someone may want them as spares. Motor is unknown: I had that unknown D675 motor, brand new built, got £400!!!!

Alas to say it aint worth much!! IMO.
