I Got To Barcelona!

  1. 1512 Kms! Now I progress to follow the route of Laurie Lee, who lived near me @ Slad. He fought in the Spanish civil war. After that, it is Portugal and round to Santander where I can get the ferry to Plymouth! Then, Plymouth to Berkeley and home!

This is going to br a real motorbike trip one day. A bit of variation as Ride knows that I am on a cycle and cannot use certain road types - like Motorways. Barrelling down the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans seems a long time ago!

  2. Several of the popular 20th century authors fought in the Spanish Civil War.

  3. Phase 2. A mere 1037 kms!

  6. Agree the roads around Clement-ferrand and the national park of volcanos are wonderful, well worth a stop over.
I rode once from Madrid to Bordeaux in one stint, slept three hours and carried on to Caen, 800 miles!
God the multi was a great tourer, much better than me!

  7. Yep. The focus will be Spain and Portugal. The French bit will still be good though. I wanna go almost directly South to mimic my cycle route to Barcelona. I've yet to find any part of France that I don't like!

  8. I was wrong! Just checked my exercise bike odometer. Still another 4kms to go! Oh well, I'll do it tomorrow!

  9. Enjoy! The outskirts of Barca are OK, have a bocadillo de lomo con pan tomate?
