In these dark and depressing times, the Gone Fishing programme has been a superb break from the gloom. Funny and heartwarming with a good dose on how to look for good things in life.

  10. Sound good, I am not aware of it and season 4? I confess to really liking programs with a very simple formula. What channel is it on?

  11. BBC you can watch all series on catchup

    it’s very heartwarming

  12. Not just for fishermen/women, my mrs loved every episode.
Paul and Bob on TV is 30 minutes of pure chill out.
And not afraid to discuss difficult issues.
I often go fishing with the grand children and one of my mates.
A great way to bond in a quiet picturesque environment.

  13. I agree. I don’t fish, nor do I have a deep desire to, but Bob and Paul are such likeable people who can see the positives in everything, helped by their life in comedy and reflecting on their own life challenging experiences.

  14. I've taken to watching lots of youtube , with a few guys who do golf videos playing each other. Banter and tips all in one. And much better than most of the stuff on tv

  15. I don't "get" the fishing thing, but the bond, camaraderie and humour between the two is fantastic and worth watching.

  16. I spend a days fishing with friends, family or on my own.
I often wonder where the day has gone, time just flies by whether you are catching or not.
It takes your mind away from all of your daily problems, and gives you time to think things through in a neutral environment.
You don’t find many fishermen with stress or mental issues.

  17. Classic, love these guys! I am not an avid fisherman but I love kayak fishing and have had some good hauls, there is something very exciting about being towed about by a 3-5kg fish! Plus you get to take it home and eat it!
This one is about 26kg, the biggest fish I have caught. From a boat obvs.

  18. I used to love watching that fishing program a few years ago with the big Aussie guy, name escapes me now. I have been fishing several times and never caught even a plastic bag, while every one around me got something or other.

This is why we go fishing, this went back alive as I did not have a pan big enough to cook it.
