916 Overcoming Loctite

  1. Good idea, but I'd say that the small size of the hex recess on the countersunk screw is a pretty good indicator that they really don't need to be more than hand tight with a quality (e.g. Bondhus) T drive.

    To the OP - maybe find someone who could spot weld a bolt to the stuck screws?

  3. Getting good mileage from this post!

    Got me thinking.... clearly Haynes' instructions to put locking compound on the threads is dubious advice based on the comments here.
    Are there any other suggestions in the manual that should actually be ignored?
