Hi looking for advice, my 695 is doing all of the above. The fundementals all seem to be good, no engine light, cam timing, compression all good, tps reset fuel filter and pump are working OK. I think it could be a short or bad sensor somewhere. Has anyone any ideas? thanks
When it cuts out is the ignition still powered up or do you loose electrical power too ? Does it do all three of your faults at the same time or different faults, randomly ? Hi ignition stays on it only cuts out when coming to a stop unless I keep the revs up. Same with idle but seems to be intermittent. The lack of power is not though. Just a bad bog after about 3000 rpm and a lack of general responsiveness
I had a Multi 1100 owner come to me a couple of years ago whose bike had these symptoms. It turned out to be the crank sensor which was unusual as these usually fail completely, sometimes only when the engine gets hot.
No easy tests. It should measure around 750Ω ± 10% across the 2 outside pins of the connector. If the body shows signs of swelling it is definitely on the way out. They are not expensive unless you buy OEM. When I checked the bike yesterday, guzzi diag was showing tps at 4.0 with throttle closed. It was reset at 2.7 a week previous. I've had the tps off and measured with a multimeter and the readings are stable. What would cause it to jump up like that after a reset
Thought I would update as I resolved the issue. I replaced all sensors one by one to no avail until I noticed tps was not showing full open on guzzi diag when the throttle was held open. Was showing 35 degrees ish. Tps replaced, problem gone. I went through everything from fuel pump to spark. If only I had noticed it before.
