  1. TBH if the 19" wheel tests out OK when UK Mags get hold of one and it's £22K or less for the S?

    I'm in!

  2. The S is 18k4, and the S Sport is 19k995.

  3. Auto levelling suspension in combination with manual selection on the S and S Sport. That sounds like a nice touch, but I wonder if it has rising spring rates or simply ends up under-sprung when fully loaded like the current bikes are.

Reading through the electronics info, the dash can be tilted to suit different rider heights, which is a nice touch.
everything is navigated through using the new dedicated 4 way joystick on the left hand control. That includes phonebook, music, etc. A bit like android carplay I assume.
Still concerned about how you might load routes to the satnav, and in what format, but assume it could be through this link too somehow.

Another concern I have is whether my Samsung Note 8 will fit in the tank cubby, since its longer than normal phones.
Also it could be a problem for some phone cases.

The looks are growing on me, but its not an improvement on the 1260 imo.
Still, I'm excited to actually see and ride one.

Only the S and S Sport get skyhook, cruise control, quick shifter, M50 calipers, 33mm front discs, and 6.5" screen with integral nav. The base V4 has manual suspension, 320mm discs and a 5" screen.

Fuel consumption is quoted at 6.5l per 100km.
So thats 69 km per uk gallon, or 43.3mpg.
If thats what they quote, I can easily see it being mid to low 30s if giving it some beans...

  4. the new model heavier than the old...no sssa...no 17i front wheel...no desmo...no trellis...more expensive...uglier...
that doesnt sound so promising...the gs hunting from vw group started...imo that wont go as they hope...

  5. And less torque.
Bhp means very little until high speeds.
Torque means far more. =. Grunt.

  10. The rads are either side of the oil cooler, I am sure on the video or in a picture I saw a fan through the top side panel

  11. As mentioned elsewhere, i can see a new Sports Tourer bike incoming as a different option to the new focus of the V4 Multi.

  12. I'm hooked by the tech, but the swingarm looks awful, and unpainted. I could live with a 19" if I had to, but so far I'm not sure if I want to drop a load more money.

I'm in a bit of a predicament, as mine is going in for the full system next week, so do I stick to that plan, or use that money towards a V4S Sport???!!!!

  13. There's obviously a further release coming because it simply doesn't replace the PP.
Cheaper and not as sporty, looks to have too much Japanese influence. And a 19" front. no no no....

  15. I can't find the S Sport on the configurator yet?

I love the paintwork on this version.

BUT if I specced it in the configuration I want vs what I would buy normally (S with travel and radar plus extra lights) then it's about an extra £1,600 for the exhaust and carbon mudguard I'm not bothered about just to get that nice paint job.

All academic as I'm not going to be changing for at least a year.

  16. Its not on the configurator - yet

Plus prices on configurator and model listings appear off a bit? maybe OTR costs?

  17. No major gripes from me, some good progressions, but without a lottery win and accounting for the loss already on my 1200 Enduro, I think I will stick?

  18. Here you go...... V4S with all the extras.

  19. The tech wizardry is impressive, the looks (IMHO) are not.

As others have said, the focus on off-road capabilities is a bit odd, but as they appear to have dropped the Enduro model from the range the 'all-roads' buzzword bingo makes sense. Still, I won't be taking £20k+ off-road with my limited ability, it wouldn't end well.

A quick flick through the accessories reveals the the side stand extender is a mere £91, but that's because it's made by Rizoma :astonished:

Still, it would be rude not to have a test ride or two next year, just to see if the 19" front wheel makes any sense.
