Desmodue configuration for Track use

  1. Hi everyone,

I'm putting together a track prototype with D2 engine just for track use

    The engine configuration is:

    - 748R engine case with jet oiler under the vertical piston
    - Cylinders ST2 with modified pistons
    - 748R titanium rods modified for D2
    - 900ie cylinder heads prepared (optimising porting of course, dual ignition and new valves diameter)
    - Cmas: VeeTwo or ST2 to see what it will give tests [IMG]
    - 748R primary
    - 996RS gearbox
    - 900ie Injection body but with shower injectors (748R-type) [IMG]

But still the choice of the crankshaft, 750 or 900? 61.5mm stroke or 68? 853cm³ or 944cm³?

I think the possible power is similar for the two engine if the 853 rev limit is near 11 500/12 000rpm

What do you think? 853 or 944? [IMG]
Someone here has already assembled a 853 Desmodue?

  2. Nobody prepared D2 here?
    ;-)

  3. What's D2?

  4. Supermono conversion?

  5. In french the shortname ofthe desmodue is D2

  6. What are you trying to achieve with this motor? There are a few guys on here who have 748 based 853 conversions, a few who have built 944 motors from SS motors etc. Are you using the 900ssie heads because you feel they will give you the type of motor you want? It does look interesting what you are doing anyway :upyeah:

  7. Hi,
I already have a Desmoquattro 748R convert to 853Rs but the new project is only based on Desmodue but I hesitate for crankshaft and thus the displacement, 853 or 944
