I tried here but my serial number wont work for the Version 3 unit , not too sure if it is the same to set the configuration on the older model too http://www.translogicuk.com/manuals.php
I've got Translogic dashes on both my Ducatis. The same model as above on the 916 and a slightly older version (with 'ears') but basically the same connections on the Monster. Can email the instruction manual along with my installation info and all connections for the 916 if you'd like.
The info I have shows which colour wire in each connector going to the relevant coloured wire/connector on the bike, basically what you're after. It's a pdf document so can't attach but if you PM me an email address I'll send it over.
Looking at the dash from the rear, harness 1 with the speed & temp sensor is the one on the right. The power and signals go to harness 2 on the left. The programming switch wires (on mine) are the blue & purple on harness 1.
Not sure what fuse they recommend as mine didn't have a fuse holder built in to it (it had shorter leads than yours) and although my second, older unit had the longer leads and fuse holder with integral relay, that part fell apart due to vibrations on the Monster, causing the dash to cut out occasionally so I removed it and wired power directly into a fuse from the bike fusebox. On the 916 I connected a wire from the fusebox on one of the spare fuses, not sure what rating I used but it doesn't need much so fit the smallest you can get away with 5A or 7.5A? AKAIK the temp sensor and speed sensor need to be specific, after having fitted the dash to the (air-cooled)Monster where I fitted the temp sensor on the oil pump pickup filter to monitor oil temp I bought a second sensor for the 916 to do the same and I have a switch by the dash to select between water and oil temp on the display.
Sounds about right, can't be drawing much current but I'm not sure you can get automotive blade fuses in such a small size though? I just used a spare position in the fuse box and fitted the smallest fuse I had at the time, certainly hasn't blown a fuse in 9 years.
2 way connector is for the programming switch, 6 way is harness 1 & the 8 way is harness 2. It maybe easier to buy a new harness 1 complete with the sensors, even if you're going to cut the plug off it? Harness 2 is just 8 wires on a plug. If I had one with no connectors I'd fit the corresponding Amp connectors to go directly to the bike, much like Carlo's appears to be, as it was I used the Translogic harness/cable to adapt to Amp connectors.
They are for the water temp, the O ring that bolts to the engine using one of the M6 bolts already in situ on the block I bolted it just below the throttle body, 4 bolts holding an inspection plate I think
Don't know if it helps but mine has green and brown to the temp sensor and black, white together with white/yellow and red to speed sensor (3 way connector with 4 wires - the two whites being in central pin).
Sorry it is has all heat shrink on the cable , I cannot make out the colours unless I stripped it Speed is Blue, red ,black wires Button , white and purple wires Plug to the OE harness uses Black , white , Yellow , red wire Only wires left for the plug to the Temp and Neutral is Neutral is Looks Brown (hard to see in the sun, will be easier when it gets dark later) Themp must be the 2 Green wires
Hello new friend, I read this post and I would like if you can send me manual and instructions to install Tranlogic on 916. Thanks!!!
