  2. Ryder, Moody, Hodgson and Perry! Sorted!

  3. Am I alone in finding hodgson and Whitham too annoying when they are on too much. I love the racing insight but it’s the ‘isnT iT’ from hodgeson and general white ring on and mugging to camera with that power stance he does with whitham.
    Love listening to Laverty

  4. 2 pages in to the post and a little surprised Laverty hasn’t been mentioned until now. Think he’ll divide opinion, definitely a ‘no’ from me, can’t stand his voice. Andy

  5. Must admit I liked his enthusiasm even if people think he talked rubbish etc...personally prefer some energy from a commentary rather than some mega expert talking in a constant drone

  6. What, Paddy??? It’ll be all Barm caaakes and shit.

    Laverty is good. Whitham too.
I’ll have a go, I’ve no idea what I’m talking about but I can waffle bollocks with the best of them.

  7. Could be worse.... They could bring back Steve Parish:joy:

  8. Huewen had a tendency to bumble on and get his facts confused, and was constantly being corrected by Ryder (back in the day) or Hodgson in recent times.

I’d love to see Julian Ryder back but I think that ship has sailed.

  9. Don’t see why not; he’s been doing SBK commentary this year.

  10. He said he left the MotoGP gig because he didn't want to travel any more. Lockdown meant that he was amenable to commentating again presumably. I always thought that it was being locked in a 40c portakabin with Huewen which drove him to quit, but we'll find out I guess.

  14. Seems to have worked for Huewen so I don’t see why not?

  15. Laverty for me! Top bloke and knows his stuff! Only other one is Randy Mamola! Should never have got rid of him! They need to get rid of Simon Crafar quick!!

  18. Very true! A more cringe-worthy interviewer you would not want to meet! If I was a racer, I would finish anywhere other than the podium to avoid him!

  19. I've always like the BT team, and too be honest Huewen always sounds genuinely excited by the racing, even if it's not a massively exciting race. Which I think is the main thing for a commentator, yes he may bumble his way around, but that make me laugh and shows he's only human at the end of the day. Hodgy and laverty are also brilliant. Perry is good and breaks up the sausage fest. And Gav seems like a decent bloke. But Crafar needs a new voice box, he always gets fast forwarded.
I just hope they don't have a moment of madness and take on Matt Roberts or Greg Haines from WSBK. My god they are such bum sniffers

  20. I know Michael, he’s literally the nicest bloke you’ll ever meet. Exceptionally down to Earth and genuine. He was one of the first people to
message me when my marriage went down the pan despite us not being close friends by any means. Lovely man.

    Hodgy is the same tbh.
