  1. Even more importantly it appears you need to use a key to access the fuel tank, how very quaint :astonished:.

  2. Mine has been burning a bit of oil, so I’m hoping that now I’ve got the full Termi fitted it won’t burn as much.

  3. What’s this key you speak of? :D

  4. Uglier more thirsty heavier very expensive step in the right direction?

  5. I just started reading the review from More Crap than News and gave up. The way they're slating the 1260 and fawning over this new model is truly cringeworthy. And some of the stuff they're saying about the 1260 is complete crap.

  6. The clue is in the name. News sells.

  7. So do all expenses paid jollies to say something nice, journo's are mainly mercenaries anyway ;)

  8. In the bmw Spanish forum, it has aroused a lot of interest, 2000 messages, 49,000 visits, if that's why they have done it, it may be that they have aroused the interest of GS buyers. the sad reality? only 8 or 9 of those 2000 messages are to publish that it is interesting and that they would ask for a test, nobody wants to go through "shame at lunch on Saturday" because they see him without a bmw :oops:

  9. i dont want the v4 multi became a sales failure for ducati.but i want them get the message and make the bike they should have made from the beggining.
make the correct multi s replacement and the if you want try for something new.not the other way.

  10. So I guess the headline to this story will be.....

Journalists get a free all-expenses paid trip to Italy, whilst everyone else is in full COVID lockdown, rave over a bike that none of them will ever purchase. The loyal customer base is dismayed at a replacement that few wanted and even fewer would purchase, whilst GS riders can’t wait to see what happens when someone dares to drop one!

  11. Everyone enjoys different motorbikes, part of the fun - I shall be excited to try one. Recently I was pleased to try the new Tenere 700, which I thought looked great and being the owner of two really nice XT600e, I almost ordered without riding. On the test, about two minutes in, I just knew...nah. Funny how we sometimes know so quickly isn’t it?

Pleased to see some good innovation for 2021. If they have really fixed the wind noise, that would be amazing for me. Also a little less vibration would stop white fingers (an age thing). Before Watching the video reviews, I couldn’t see the radar being useful, but it looks very clever.

However, the post launch reviews are the ones to read.... I hope they are as positive

  12. The V4 Panigale I had for the day whilst my 1260 was being serviced was sublime and a characterful mental weapon at the same time. Don't think white fingers would be a problem. I couldn't live with the discomfort and impractical nature of a sports bike but its engine really whetted my appetite for the, at the time, only rumoured V4 Mutley. I'll certainly test ride one for final judgement but can't really justify buying even if I did like it.... which on the face of it currently I don't.

  13. I can only reserve judgment on how the V4 rides until i ride one. There are some good things to like from what I can see. But for me it has lost the Multistrada's essence. It seems more of an evolution of the Enduro. I don't like that it is heavier and not so good on fuel. And from the pictures and videos, I just don't like the looks. What I love about my 1260 is that L twin feel and punch, and however great the V4 is, it is a V4 and not a twin. What I also love about my 1260 are the flowing lines, and that it looks like a super moto on steroids with the 17 inch wheels, and I love that big fat rear tyre. I could sit and look at my bike for hours, I can't imagine that with the V4. But as with how it rides, I will reserve judgment on the looks until I've seen it in the flesh.

  14. I don’t understand why the 1260 Enduro is still in production next year, and yet they’ve launched this new V4 with more off-road capabilities as well. What’s with this sudden obsession at Ducati of taking Multistradas off-road?

  15. I dont think its in production... I think its still for sale as there is still lots of stock and currently it meets for the immediate future the emissions requirements.

When it does not meet the requirements (euro 5?) then the stock will be registered - so they become used vehicles.

  16. I have always liked the Multistrada, and the V4 would have been the bike that would make me buy one.
Trouble is that I bought a new BMW R1250RS in September/October, not a problem as I paid cash so could sell and buy the V4. Only thing is that even with all the extra bits on the V4 it only has the radar more than my new BMW. I have the 6.5" TFT with phone GPS connection, and the cornering ABS, self levelling suspension, LED headlights, and all the other toys.
What I tend to forget about the Ducati is the chain drive, the dealer being a 2 hour ride away, not being able to reset the service indicator myself, the dreadful fuel consumption, the seat height for us short legged people and there are other things. I think that I made the correct choice with the BMW.
Would still like to go and test ride one though.

  17. I'm actually starting to feel relieved over my dissatisfaction of the new model and starting to look at my 1260 as a longer term option.

Even if the V4 had met my expectations, it's unlikely to have offered much more than I've already got, acknowledging that I haven't ridden the thing!

  19. Me neither , but I guess they've got no extended fuel range with the new bike yet , so to keep up the the GSA , its the only 30 litre tank bike they have.
