  1. so not a million miles away from the guy I know then.

I think it depends on the type of riding and roads a lot though, I know my range goes down a lot if I come off motorways to state the obvious

  2. Frankly I am amazed that you can get so far on a tank when you look like a giant air brake. :joy:

  3. No, it’d be a long push though if he’s out a little. Like I said he frets at 90 in rural areas, his Tuono hasn’t been on a motorway.

  4. From my 1992 Sc28 Fireblade 175 miles before reserve so maybe 16 litres with a 2 litre reserve

  5. 2015 R1- reserve light came on at around 80 miles, run out at 92miles. (2 miles away from petrol station) Mixed A and B road riding in Kent. Edited ..at spirited pace

  6. 98SPS Lincoln to Dover running up to but not over 100mph, the fuel light came on at 125 miles. Still managed to average 60mph for the trip inc the fuel stop at Birchanger.
Never risked 2 laps of the TT back in the last days of early morning silly laps. Had to wait for the petrol station in Ramsey to open up before the 2nd time over the mountain.
1994 900SS would do about 120 to 130 miles per tank running at 100 to 110mph on French autoroutes.

  7. The advertising blurb back in the day bannered.... "100 mph and 100mpg"

  8. Best for me is my 998s that has done just over 160 miles on a single tank which I thought was pretty good. The worst? probably my TZ350 which we reckoned used to do 7 to 8 mpg when used in anger, 10 laps of Donington old circuit ( pre Melbourne loop) would use around three quarters of a tank. Gotta luv a small highly tuned 2 stroke.

  9. ZZR1400 205 miles on fumes in France
Hypermotard 90 miles coming back from Cumbria

  10. Best I ever got out of my 1199 Panigale S was 116 miles on a tank full to seriously concerned. It was touring in Spain where it’s far more open road. Mind you, thinking about it that could have been Kilometres :p

Lucky to get 100 miles in the Uk.

  11. Always had a lust for a zzr1400

  12. Just got back from a run around North/Mid Wales. Weather glorious, just perfect. I always find the 748 is pretty good on a long run, I've long contended that journey length is as important/more important than average speed when it comes to fuel economy. Round town and normal use, the light comes on about 120 miles, another 25 on reserve. On a long run like today, the light comes on at 160 miles. I keep glancing down, you get to the point where you're actually hoping it will light up, just in case the sender has failed and you're going to grind to a halt in the middle of nowhere! :D

But those senders are fairly reliable, I *have* had one fail, but I don't think they are considered a weakness. And those idiot lights never seem to fail; I've never had one go on a Ducati, in a hell of a lot of miles.

  13. Ive done an extra 25m when my old 1198 light came on. I wouldnt push it further than that. Damn french service station we planned to stop at was getting a refit AND it was a sunday evening. I was on fumes.

  14. Best I ever got was 70 miles, but I had to rag it everywhere..in every gear.. holding it on the limiter the lot.
