A neighbour has taken pity on me and explained the rules. Apparently, putting your bin out first marks you out as a sure-fire loser. The trick is to be the last and still catch the truck. Too late and you've missed the collection, also marking you out as a loser. Then, when the bins are emptied you must go straight out and rescue them. The winner is the person who gets their rubbish collected whilst having their bin out for the shortest time I did point out (for I was up, this morning) that my garden waste bin is collected at 6:30 am and I am not going to risk missing it if I don't wake up early enough. "Tough, you are a loser!" was the reply. I may be making this up....
I set my alarm to put my bins out just before the lorry turns up (usually) The time I didn’t I woke up to bin lorry passing my house. The neighbour across the road puts her bin out Tuesday night and it’s back in its spot soon after it’s been emptied
Steps: Are they still going? I thought that they broke up years ago. Do they make a lot of noise and keep you up at night?
