  3. Sad news. I think he had a good life though.

  4. Used to love watching ‘A round with Alliss’.
I suppose I’d better use my Peter Alliss trivia:- he was the largest baby born in Europe in 1931; 14lbs 10oz.

  5. A golfing legend, commentated on major competitions for longer than I can remember, will be genuinely missed by thousands. RIP. :(

  13. Indeed. He survived a very nasty crash in an F104 once I believe. Great pilot.

  14. What a guy. A life very well lived. RIP Chuck.

  15. RIP Chuck. I would imagine going supersonic for the first time is akin to sailing off the edge of what was perceived as a flat world. It really was flying into the unknown, and a negative outcome would have had us saying RIP all those years ago. Brave man indeed!

  16. Must have been amazing to do that in 1947.........I know how I felt in 1966 when my Enfield 500 single threw me up in the air when the kickstart spat back.

  17. Everyone dies a death, and yet, not everyone lives a life.
This fella touched death regularly during his life, and yet what a long and fulfilled life that has been
A bit profound but a real hero ..........
