Prestige Motobike Covers

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Guillaume69, Nov 21, 2020.

  1. I have been trying to do business with this company this summer, to get a custom made indoor cover for my 998 Matrix. I believe they are located in the Newcastle area.

    https://www.prestigemotorbikecovers.co.uk/

Very nice contact (e-mail), lots of technical and commercial discussions to get exactly what I want, very excited about the whole thing, at quite a premium to get the quality I’m looking for.

Paid around 350£ in early august. Last email I got was in late august, informing me the custom labels were about to get printed on the cover. Since then, they’ve gone completely silent. I get no answer to my emails and nobody picks the phone up (I keep getting directly to their answering machine). Since I paid through PayPal, I already have started to file a complaint to get paid back.

Anyone heard about this company? Anything gone wrong with them, bankruptcy or else?

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

  2. I’m sure you checked but their last Facebook update was 29 July.

  3. Yep, something must have happened to this company... What a pity!

  4. I had a cover made by these people for my son's EVO, https://www.specialisedcovers.com/ & I was going to get them to make a cover for my custom bobber. Perfect fit & was well impressed with their service.

They look to be a completly different company from https://www.prestigemotorbikecovers.co.uk/ but they seem to be using the same picture, which got me thinking, "are they connected". Possibly not, they might just be using the same generic picture ?

  5. If I had a bobber, I would want to cover it too.

  7. I messaged them with an inquiry on their FB page, no response so far sadly.

  8. I tried:

    - email (after exchanging a dozen or so with them on that address)
    - Website message window
    - Phone
    - PayPal inquiry system

    Nothing. Nada. Rien.

  9. So it’s now turned into a claim through the PayPal protection system. Hope to get refunded and move on.

    I’ll keep you posted.

  11. Yep, very good point. There are some fees (for the seller, I believe) when paying through PayPal for a service or goods. This provides you with some coverage which can be very interesting in some cases.

Not long ago, I ordered some parts online from a Dutch company. They took the payment and I never got a bill or email or anything stating that my order had been taken into account, just the PayPal receipt. After a couple weeks, I notified PayPal an « item non received » type situation. They contacted the seller who refunded me less than 48hrs later. Top notch!

This one is going to be tougher as the seller has gone missing. It may have to be on PayPal insurance or something.

  12. Well, a little update on that case of mine. PayPal just emailed me that based on the elements they got, my claim has been closed in my favor with full pay back.

I do not know what happened to this company, but believe they ceased to exist for some reason.

I have to say I am really impressed with PayPal coverage. It was quick and entirely satisfactory. Kudos to them!
