So, while I still believe 75% of the parts on the V2 can be sourced from a 959 or a 1299 (swingarm etc), I did spot some differences when fitting my shock the other week that aren’t on bits you’d think... The lower triples on the V2 are different to the 959, they clearly needed room for the heat sinks for the head lights so instead of redesigning them they shaved out the lower triple clamp so it clears on lock. just one of the less obvious things I’ve noticed so thought I’d share.... useful is anyone is buying spares etc Ps please can someone fix the annoying images going at the start of threads and then being impossible to move thing on iOS!
except it doesn’t hence my comment...... I typed it all then I uploaded the pics and pressed ‘full image’ and that’s what it does
!! I think a better solution would have been to trim the fins on the heatsink rather than cnc m/c the bottom yoke, must weaken it a lot???
yeah, I mean, maybe there is more too it, maybe they are trying to tune in some flex but I doubt it, if that was the case they would do it between the pivot and the forks
mom fairly sure it does as I’ve seen it and the front fairing cowl and mirror blanks listed for both bikes, all the side panels on the bike are different to V4 and 959
