Adjustable Forks 50mm/54mm For Sport Classic

  1. Hi all,
I just bought a 2006 SC Monoposto - replacing my beloved 1098S. I'm trying to resource front forks to replace the OEM Marzocchi's. I read forks coming from S2R, S4R(S), Monster 1100 are easy to install. I want to keep the OEM spoked wheels for now but will replace them in the future by spoked Kineo's or Alpina's. If - by doing so - I can get better stopping power up front I'll be more than happy.

Where can I resource Woodcraft rearsets for my SC? Or would you advise buying other pegs? I really liked the RCM Racing rearsets on my 1098S as they gave lots of grip on the outer edge of the pegs.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Wouldn't other Monster forks fit too, or even ST2/3/4 ones? May be worth a check.

  3. Will check indeed. Tks.

  4. I fitted st2 ones into a 620 monster. And others fitted SS forks, but they were longer so stuck out the top much further for the right ride height.

  5. I've put ST4s forks on my S2r 800 and they were a straight swap.
If you want some dimensions for the original forks let me know and I'll measure them

  6. Tks much already. I came across Monster 1100S forks (FG 7381, year 2008). Are they an easy fit for my Sport (Classic) 1000 bearing in mind I want to combine these forks with the OEM spoked wheels to keep the neo-retro look? What Brembo's are compatible? In the future I'd like to install Alpina spoked wheels.

  7. Won’t the bottom yoke be different size with ohlins?
Stick brembo monoblocs on there straight off the S

  8. top yoke is 50mm bottom 54mm
the only 2nd hand showas worth buying are from the supersport SS1000.
otherwise, while the older monster SS and ST etc will be a straight swap, they are shite and there is nothing affordable that can be done to make them better.

those m1100s ohlins FG 7381 will fit in the yokes but as the calipers are radial you will need new calipers, brake lines and possibly master cylinder.
you might also need to get correct spacers made up to centre the wheel

i'm assuming the SC uses the 6 hole mount pattern for the rotors found on many pre 2005 bikes (monster , 748 916 996 998, ST, SS ), for radial calipers you will probably need different brake discs with 15mm offset (748R 996R 998R) or use 5mm spacers but this has its down sides

  9. I’d disagree with the St ones. I had mine rebuilt and they were great on my race bike. Sure, not like ohlins or later SBK forks but gees enough for a 120mph race bike.
