Prison For 180 Mph Rider

  1. I'm sure a previous report said it was his bike, he just didn't have a licence for it.

  7. He also tried to escape by bolting from the dock, though I’m not sure how that happened as IIRC, all of the courtrooms at Wood Green Crown Court have secure docks with inch thick perspex screens which reach to the ceiling and have lockable doors with no internal handle. Plus, there is at least one but often two custody officers in there with a defendant.

The last time I heard of a defendant making a bid for freedom it was at an even more secure court (Woolwich) and he was thwarted by the now retired but then permanently bad-tempered ex-Irish Guards officer, His Honour Judge Moore, who grabbed him round the throat : https://www.theguardian.com/law/2011/mar/08/judge-rugby-tackled-defendant-escape I also had a client, in only my second ever trial, escape from court. I should have known there'd be trouble as my "Instructions to Counsel" from the solicitor informed me that "Counsel will easily recognise his lay client as he has "F*ck the pigs" tattooed across his forehead", and he didn't disappoint as he leapt over the rail of the unsecured dock, made it out of the courthouse altogether and was last seen being pursued across Camberwell Green by two Serco officers.

The 180mph guy does seem to like making problems for himself though because he's not only managed to parlay up points and a fine for no licence/no insurance into a year behind the door, but now is probably going to be charged with attempting to escape from lawful custody and get yet more jail time.

  8. Looks like this is one entitled little shit that has had no boundaries in his life.
No doubt we will be seeing him again, as he obviously does not care about the law, others or their property.
A more suitable punishment would have been to drop him off in handcuffs at the ace cafe.
With a sign around his neck saying motorbike thief, i an sure he would quickly learn the error of his ways.

  9. Lockdown is clearly playing with people's mindsets in different ways.He will be a repeatable offender in life without doubt.

  10. Or at the Bikeshed, and he can talk about his feelings over an artisanal coffee.

I’m only kidding - I love the Bikeshed!

  11. Is it just me that finds bike cafe's truly horrific and usually full of the 'hoodie over leathers' brigade who can't ride for shit.

It's such a shame as there's some properly decent guys and girls around, but most just seem like knobbers. I dropped in to Loomies or whatever it's called a ages back and was mortified haha

  12. These days, apart from the old geezers, the Ace is full of the sort of guys who ride Gixxers while wearing grey sweatpants with that weird stiff-armed bolt-upright stance. They’re a close cousin of the dudes who ride R1s wearing motocross armour.

I know it attracts a lot of piss-taking but I think the Bikeshed is a great concept. Apart from the bar/restaurant, they put on big screen MotoGP races which get a large and noisy crowd, trackdays, Sunday scrambles, the Festival (including various classes of “run what you brung” racing), an annual custom bike show and a community volunteering program. IMO, it was a shot in the arm for biking culture which had started to feel very stale. The owners are Good People too - very helpful and down to Earth and not at all up themselves now they’re mega successful and well-known.

  13. Genuine GT3 or a kit?

No sunroof, which suggests its a real one but those wheels don’t look like GT3 items (difficult to tell from that angle though)

  14. Genuine 997.1 mate

  16. If he'd been a footballer, he'd have got off with a token slap on the wrist. The judiciary dislike bikes and bikers, factor in high speeds and he was always going down.

There cannot be too many sports bike riders though that have not 180mph plus at some point? If you haven't ... wow, you bought the wrong bikes.

  17. He was no biker - just a scrote....

  18. Agreed. Most of us have done it (obviously not me Ofcourse officer)

I ride like a granny on the road these days though

  19. What are you drinking? The scuzzer pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without a licence and being uninsured, riding on the pavement, false numberplates 70mph in 20mph zone, positive for cocaine with 180mph to boot. You don't expect to get jailed for that? LOL.

I don't know the sentencing rules but 46 weeks means a few months unless he behaves like a turd inside.
