  1. I know mate, that was the joke

  2. Could always chuck a Motodemic conversion at it

  3. Well we won’t have to wait long to find out, I’m sure the images will get ‘leaked’ before the announcement like they normally do with Triumph. As I’ve said above, I suspect it will be a lovely bike and would definitely have one, but right now, being the owner of a Euro 5 bike, I’d happily go used to get a Euro 4 bike like a current gen RS or a Tuono V4 that’s a year old, the standard stuff Is suffering from manufacturers trying to pass tight emissions tests. In my case it’s that the Panigale V2 is asthmatic around 4-6k rpm with torque actually falling away, and ridiculous amounts of heat especially at constant throttle where the engine is leaning out. The new bikes will all be the same. We will see cylinder deactivation on all bikes soon and then it will be turbo’s because they naturally will reduce noise and lower engine output relative to power figures

  4. That looks right now :upyeah:

  5. You’d think they’d give you a fake analogue looking screen wouldn’t you, not a huge fan of the modern displays TBH.

  6. Oh look, it got leaked...... I’m SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO surprised..... not.... Triumphs marketing team are pretty predictable

  7. Not the same exhaust???....this one looks crap!

    Black or Silver?.....how imaginative!

  8. Never understood the point in having a single sided swinger only to cover it up with a massive bin on the side

  9. I think they have gone direct mount with the shock to give space for the huge catalytic converters, others have managed it with dual sided swing arms but for a single you need loads of thickness across the pivot axle so can’t do both. Either way it’s totally compromised it’s handling IMO, Ktm have proved it doesn’t work.

  10. I guess their target buyer is someone who wants a big noisy pose mobile to wobble down the cafe on and say it’s got 180 brake

  11. So the entire segment then! When you look at it like that they have nailed it!

  12. Bit harsh Phil. If it has captured some of the fun/nature of the 765 Striple but with more grunt it will be a bit of a weapon. And I have seen the Ducati SF being used in earnest on track and that didn’t wobble.
It would need to be a hell of a bike for me to part with money though to be fair. Needs to be considerably better that the 765 in all departments for that.

I am looking forward to the road test reviews and then getting a go on one myself.

  13. Bit more costly than I had hoped for at £15,100. Looking forward to road test reviews although its unlikely I will get one, at least not this year. Bloody boring colour schemes too.

  14. I was kinda okay with the pricing, I agree the colours are dull though. I’ll be honest I genuinely think it will be stunning to ride, quick, handle brilliantly, good on fuel. All you could ever need... except...

There are others out there that are also that, the S1000r and the MT10... where I think Triumph have gone wrong is that it’s now designing the bike into a bland mid segment. Where as the Streetfighter had the guts to design the bike in a way that at least split opinion.

I couldn’t fall in love with this bike, I couldn’t open the garage and be really chuffed I own it, it would feel like a tool. Some are okay with that, I’m not.

  15. £2.5 gets you a V4 SF base.

  16. Your man from triumph on the 44 Teeth video said as much when asked if it was “manic” like other super nakeds, that they set about making it as refined and easy to ride as possible. Makes me expect it to be... bland, like you said

  17. BANG!!
    Nail on the head Phil.

  18. My Street RS is easy to ride. Be very interesting to hear the reviews as I suspect (hope) it has a harder edge to it. But I’d get a base v4 SF first for the money.
EDIT. and many other bikes ahead of that too.

  19. I think it’ll be a blinding ride, the 1050 RS was pretty good and now this is a fair bit lighter and 177 bhp it’ll fly I reckon, on the road it’ll murder an S1000r.
Pricing is not too bad I reckon, it’s 3 grand less than the new Tuono, but as ever it’ll need a grands worth of extras thrown at it to make it how it should be,... heated grips, fly screen, etc

It’s no looker mind, very boring, and dull colours, just makes me wonder how many times Triumph can regurgitate this “bug-eye” look and call it new? If you stand it next to the new Tuono with its twin wall fairing, it’ll make the Triumph look very ordinary.

So for me,...things I like, great job on the engine, plenty of power and torque, good pricing.
Don’t like, dull paint jobs, samey looks and some of the design points just look untidy, look at the rear hub and sprocket assembly,...it looks like bolt-city, about 10-12 bolts sticking out of the hub, surely there must have been a tidier way of doing it?
Rear foot pegs look way to long and join the silencer at a strange acute angle, also it’s lost that nice stubby underbelly exhaust from the spy shots and got a boring looking end can, but what makes it look even worse is,... they have a cover at the end of the belly pan and at the engine side of the silencer can, but nothing in between and you can see two ugly exhaust pipes and the exhaust flap cover, why not just extend the belly pan cover to hide all this ugly plumbing??

Bet it rides and sounds great, but the styling needs sexing up a lot, it’s not the sort of bike that you look back at when you’ve parked it and are walking away.
