Monster 600 Cafe Racer Rebuild.

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Jerry donley, Jan 25, 2021.

  1. Hi
    Newbe here.

Sounds like I am not the only one with the idea to do up an old bike during this lockdown. Tools and ebay add ons costing more than the bike.

Bike has only done 15k and quite happy with it.
Rebuilt the front. Lowered the forks, new drop bars. Led headlight and indicators.

    Looking good.
Taking the engine out soon for soda blast and paint. Just sorting my weekends out.

I am looking to change the seat "scrambler style not cafe racer" as i want a 2 seater

Has any anyone got any ideas on the best way to do this?

Looking at the prices of hand built is just too much due to it just being a project.

Also looking for a belly pan.

    Keep safe

  6. Thanks for the welcome. Bike is almost stripped down to the frame.
The engine casing is really bad but only exterior. The engine itself rubs lovley.

Has anybody got any ideas about what seat I can fit?
I need it as a two seater so that limits my choices. I really like the crown acrambler type. I have a hoop ready to go on.
If you have a seat in mind can you advise on how much subframe to remove or what else I may need.

I will start to upload the progress.

    Thanks
