Multistrada Tyres

Discussion in 'Tyres' started by Dorsetdave, Jun 25, 2018.

  1. Paul, that’s the kind of user advice I need. Thanks very much.

  2. No problem. Have a great trip.

  3. Hey Stavrich. How did you get on with the GT 2s ?
I’m about to hit order on mine now.
Did you get the rear (A) extra load version The original GT were (D) for extra load I’m sure.

  4. After advising Sam to get a set of Roadtecs I sneakily got a set of GT II's fitted yesterday at FWR for the upcoming Multistrada gathering in the Pyrenees. Standard fitment on the rear.

I hope Sam forgives my treachery, Roadtecs are great tyres:upyeah: Let's see how the Pirelli's compare.

  5. Did you go for the (a) Rear Paul ?

  6. On FWR's recommendation I have fitted the 'regular' rear NOT the heavyweight 'A' version. Strangely enough I used the heavyweight rear with the Roadtecs. Expect a full report in a week !

EDIT - Just doubled checked - 75W marking on the tyre, definitely not A spec.

  7. Hi all, first post here. This thread was the top result in my search for best Multistrada tyres. I'm looking forward to tapping into the knowledge here.

I'm recommissioning a Multistrada 1200 that's been kept outside for 5 years. The tyres are knackered.

I came across this guide which is pretty in depth and recommends a few options for the Multi 12:

Ducati Multistrada 1200 Tyre Guide (twotyres.co.uk)

I wondered if anyone here had run the Mutants or the Pirelli trail tyres they recommend? If so what do you reckon to them.

  8. Welcome and introduce yourself properly in the newbies section too please :)

  9. Welcome to the forum. Tyres are very personal choice and there are a few champions for their favourite on here, me included. What sort of riding are you expecting to do, are you looking for budget, mileage, dry/wet grip, only tarmac or some soft roading ? Andy
