Veissmann Boilers, On A Scale Of 1 To 10 ?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Android853sp, Jan 26, 2021.

  1. I currently have an Alpha, wall mounted, gas fired, storage, combination boiler supplying central heating and hot water which is coming to the end of its reliable life. Living in an older (poured concrete) property, an air or water exchange heat pump is not a viable solution so my decision is rather driven to replace like with a more modern and efficient like. The only company Google tells me that offers a storage combination boiler, is Veissmann. Is there any experience of this company’s products on the forum ? Other influencing factors for me are a local installer and a long guarantee. There is a registered Gas Safe, Veissmann installer 7 miles up the road from me and Veissmann offer a 12 year (limited) guarantee on the boiler I’m looking at. Andy

  2. No idea mate. I’ve always used Worcester.

I was under the impression that Veissmann are considered to be one of the best though

  3. I had one fitted in one of my houses a few years ago and it's still going strong with no issues. Worcester do a storage combi I've got one in my current house.

I'd choose Veissmann over Worcester on my plumbers advice.

  5. Veissmann boilers have been trying to break into the UK market for a few years now. While trying to do this they’ve offered all sorts of offers, deals and guarantee promises to really take effect. I think they’ve won the WHICH best boiler awards for the the last few years and obviously come with the usual Germany build quality.

  6. Veissman are good quality boilers. I specify them all the time as their efficiencies are excellent, the build quality excellent and their support excellent. But you cant go much wrong with most modern condensing boilers these days.

  7. Just to throw you a curved ball, I had Vaillant boiler fitted 6 months ago, stainless steel heat exchanger and 10 year guarantee and very pleased with it so far.

  8. Buy whatever brand offers the longer warranty and as important they have a representative near you.
My Worcester is 11 year old, therefore I done a comparison between Vaillant, Worcester and Wiessman boilers. The isn't any difference in efficiency and warranty is about the same 10-11 years
Have you considered getting some sort of breathable insulation on the external walls? https://ewistore.co.uk/shop/rockwool-external-wall-dual-density-slab/
