V4 V4 Full Akro

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Philm, Jan 31, 2021.

  1. Hi peeps, was supposed to have full akro fitted by a dealer last year but not being done now!(long story) so I’m gonna fit it myself! Question is does anyone know where I can buy a full system without taking the piss on cost! Prices vary wildly! I know Ducati Glasgow had a few at a great price but they don’t have any left!
    Many thanks Phil

  2. Not quite as simple as just sourcing a full system. The ECU upmap is a download through the Ducati dealer network and is associated with the VIN and as far as I’m aware, can only be done by an authorised workshop (@Nellie). I believe you are supposed to be able to transfer a second hand system but I’ve no idea how. You may find the Termignoni 4uscite system will be more cost effective as I understand you can upload their map yourself. Andy

  3. Ah I see! Thanks Andy I hadn’t realised that! Shame though I was looking forward to having a crack at it myself!

  4. It’s a 10 hour job for a trained mechanic ! Oil cooler and radiator needs to come off and my local dealer’s workshop found it easier to remove the rear subframe as well. Andy

  5. Thanks Andy yes I knew they were a big old job! My daughters boyfriend is a great car mechanic ,he works on high end sports cars and he fitted a full termi to his bosses Ducati a few months ago so when I said I was going to do it myself I was definitely telling fibs! What I meant was I’d be watching

  6. It’s possible for you to do the spannering, but wherever you decide to get it from, you need to sort a deal out whereby they will install the software for you.
The vin number needs to be allocated to the kit and this can only be done by the supplying dealer or service outlet. They can then install the software for you.
There are/have been some cheap deals around from outside of the network but the software install is the issue. I had a guy buy one, but whoever sold it him couldn’t allocate the vin...... no software update possible. They told him to fit an exhaust valve eliminator !
If you want to, drop me a PM or call the shop and I’ll try and help out
