  1. Hands up all those that will be doing that with their brand new V4Multi. o_O

  2. If your wealthy enough to ride a valuable bike like that and get it all clogged up with sand I guess you also have someone on standby to clean it for you.

  3. Just ride it into the sea, that'll sort it :p

  4. That reminds me of when the BMW bikes were washed ashore a few years ago in Devon?

  5. I would have thought it would just immediately rust if you took that close to salt water!

  6. Maybe that’s why the GS is having so many issues with their engines and engine covers!! They’ve been storing them in Devon for years!

  7. The engine will probably be the same colour both sides if you did that....

  9. GS v V4 - let's get ready to rumble !

  10. So the V4 weighs as much as a GS! o_O

  11. Not really what I looking for. Comparison with a GS. 30 MPG?
Seems to suggest this is definitely the market they are aiming for. Probably why it looks like a GS too.
Having ridden a 1250GS, great engine but really didn't like the front wheel feel on the road.

Only a test ride will tell I guess. Can't wait for a few more tests to come online

  12. You will not get much in the feel department from the front of the gs. You just have to trust it. I’ve had two of them. And yes 30 mpg is dismal.

  13. 30.5 mpg, and we were mostly riding cautiously.........

Sorry but that’s an absolute joke. I got better than that in my 300ps Jag driving it relatively hard.
What’s the V4 going to return when nailed in the Alps. 20mpg ? 22 litres capacity, fill it up with 20 / 30 mile range left, so you’ve used 17.5 litres that calculates to between 90 & 130 range between fill ups ....

  14. I borrowed a V4 Pani for an afternoon a couple of years ago. I think it has a 16 litre tank. I filled it up and the fuel light came on with just over 100 miles on the trip and I wasn't trying very hard !

I know it's a different engine but these V4's clearly like a drink.

  15. Maybe Ducaaaati will do a “Touring” version of the V4 Mutley in 2022 with a 25l tank:p

  16. I traded a 2012 Tuono V4 in on my Multi, similar experience; ~25mpg around town, but 40-45 if I kept moving and it did get better over time. Didn’t matter if I was going 65mph on the freeway or banging it off the limiter. There’s a long stretch of tight stuff on the 190 in CA leading into Springville (see pic) where I didn’t get out of 2nd gear for about 50 miles, still got 40+ mpg.

I don’t miss seeing the low fuel light before the trip meter showed me 3 digits around town and not long after on a tour.

  17. Interesting, but you can't tell that much about the acceleration test, as both riders screwed up the start and then changing into second gear....rubbish!
The Mutli doesn't look that dis-similar to the god awful GS, but it does look better in those shots.

  18. Loved that bike, was always worried about reliability though, camshafts were a problem apparently, the induction noise was addictive, it was a peach to ride fast!!
