Did anyone else get this shit from Ducati? No lockdown but just JOY! If you are "lucky" enough to live in a city. I am not sure that they have got this right... or, I am a sad loser who does not sit on their bike to pose whilst looking sideways with the helmet on the tank. They got the tree with no leaves right but it is fecking Winter here and not many are out stopped on their bikes trying to look enigmatic...
I would argue on that but we can agree to differ - never liked the bike from day one and it certainly hasn't grown on me! Mind you, I hate the new monster look and I would argue that Ducati are losing it in the style dept...
I probably would pose like that if I looked like he does! Not sure a 56 year old slightly chunky Brit on a 12 year old 1098 would work in that scenario but you never know.
But that is their target market! Nobody below the age of 30 buys Ducatis. I would have a pic of some old ginter shivering his nuts off in the snow in Scotland. I know how to sell bikes with realistic adverts and yet they don't ask me! I can't think why not ....... yes, not enough Damart.....
I used to go for a ride through London now and then. Usually end up at the Ace. Rarely on a Ducati though. First choice was always the Thruxton 900
I didn't like the Diavel styling at all until I rode one. In 2010 I was lucky enough and took turns with my son and a journalist from RiDE magazine riding an 848 Evo, Multistrada and a Diavel from the factory in Bologna and through the nearby hills. I fell in love with the Diavel, thought the Multistrada 1200 was absolutely wonderful and got divorced with the idea of ever, ever owning an 848 Evo. I own a S1000RR - so I like the head down arse up sportsbike concept even if I am 'heavy-boned' and 58. The Diavel, what a bike! It behaves and handles like a sportsbike, I was shocked by how easy it was to ride fast and safe. I also love the new Monster and shall be trading in my Desert Sled this year for a new Monster or a second-hand Diavel.
Hmmmmm. When I get my license back and my bikes back on the road, I will visit Riders and have another look. The Kawasaki looks don't do much for me but I'm open to options. I'm guessing (as I haven't investigated yet) that you can get touring luggage stuff for it. Range is also a prerequisite and I've no idea (yet) of the Diavel range.
Just looked. With panniers you have to buy the fecking stupid back rest! The whole thing is over £18 grand!!! Feck that, when the Kawasaki 650 Ninja tourer - with everything that I want, - is under £8k!!! I could do a lot of travelling with that £10 grand saving - or, I could just throw it it in the bin after 3 years and buy another one And still be £2K up!!!
That's not really comparing like with like is it. You could just buy a Royal Enfield and save yourself even more!
Well, I want a tourer that is better than my ST2 or 3. I was comparing them as tourers as that is the ONLY reason that I would buy either bike.
