  2. Great value considering it’s that much just for just one oil service at the main stealers!... bargain

  3. Do you know how much it would be to post it?

  4. Could get it sent, tracked and insured for £20

  5. Decent price that! Shame I bought 12 litres before Christmas to see me through a few changes!

An oil change is about £140 at my dealer, about £70 in oil and filter costs, so I don’t think it’s too badly priced for their labour and a bit of profit.

  6. £140 doesn't sound bad and worth a stamp in the service book if someone needs it. I usually keep vehicles for couple years, so for me it makes more sense to do it myself (for roughly £40).

My personal issue with dealers is that I don't really believe in their honesty and it's based on my experience with them:
    - MINI overfilled engine oil and charged for pollen filter which they didn't change.
    - VOLVO recommended indy put semi-synthetic oil into my old volvo (against recommendations) and the car was consuming it quicker than fuel.

  7. I agree mate, but do hold a bike dealer in slightly higher regard than a car main dealer with 10x the staff.
I’m very happy with the service from mine and I’ve got a long coloured history of hating main dealers including an Ombudsman ruling in my favour! I’m fairly hard to please!

All that said I do interim changes myself too as I get 2 for 1 price wise.

Just checked last cost of oil (11ltrs), filter and both sump plugs on the recent service on V12 Aston, £170. Bearing in mind
the amount of oil and cost of 2 sump plugs (£17.74/pair) the £70 for oil and filter on a bike doesn't sound that cheap, about 4.5 ltrs of oil tops? but probably a normal dealer price. Glad I do my own bike servicing.

The oil is expensive for the top quality stuff, I was merely pointing out that the dealers aren’t robbing people.

I certainly pay more than £170 for my V12 jag to have an oil change, are you using olive oil?!

Funnily enough I’ve been looking at them recently. Vantages around the 2013-2014 era

and gt4’s. And maccas. And beamers. And ... the list goes on ha

Ive got a V12 XJS jag, my dad bought it new and it’s still like new. Passed to me after he died.

I constantly look at upgrading my M3 but run out of balls!

Mobil Life 0/40 as recommended for AM V12's, would love to use something less pricey but don't want to risk insane repair bill for using wrong stuff.
Yes, bought DB7 Vantage a few weeks back.
