Lowest priced 1098R I’ve seen for a while, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1098R/313405410746?hash=item48f86b0dba:g:IDMAAOSwSadfqqN~. No mention of a service history, 17,600 miles and 5 owners. Andy
I had to think about this and I can’t make it worth £11k. It’s not a 748R and it’s not a 1098. It’s a lovingly put together bitza but still a bitza none the less. Andy
bit of a dilemma/each to their own but a shame to do that to an "R". I could have bought an R for 3k 2 years ago but still glad I didn't (buy) as just don't seem to have the time or the health any more.
Unfortunately you just can't use it on the road or you'll strip money away from your investment, unless your very rich of course and it doesn't matter.
And there is the rub. Is it an investment or should you ride it like it was made to ? In investment terms, it isn’t going to increase in serious value and life is far too short. Just get it ridden and enjoy it. Andy
Well i would if i owned it,just like James May when he purchased that brand new Honda RC30 from David Silver a few years back.
Ride them but look after them and they'll be fine. Used my 916SP from new and never once considered it an investment. In terms of enjoyment and whatever I get if/when I shift it I am sure it was good value for money. I think investment gets confused with quick profit...
Not if i'm buying it from you in the near future you won't.......................yes 100% burn that rubber until the cows come home..but i stiil worry about devaluing with excessive mileage.
Let's face it for what i paid for all the bikes i'll get a good return when selling later on,but for me ownership and just those rides out grinning from ear to ear ,what fab memories for later in life when i do a zimmer frame walk.
This one's worth a mention. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1982-Duc...310194?hash=item4b8c4b92b2:g:yPgAAOSw9DNgHVfj
When he said “Take it around the block for a quick spin to check everything “ he never realised how big the block was.
