Hi, Need to re-locate my Front brake and clutch reserviours, and wanted to check the tube size and best place in UK to get the tube/clamps please? Thanks
Tygon tubing is also an option and it is clear and will never rot or soften with age and can withstand fuel, brake fluid and oil. It is often used to replace the reservoir on rear brake conversions. Tygon 2375 tubing 12" Brake fluid reservoir hose 6mm ID 2075 30cm length 1/4" | eBay
I like the clear. But you can also get it in yellow, just to upset @Ducbird. Not that I would want too, obviously. GForce TYGON GASOLINE FUEL TUBE 3x6mm Nitro Fuel Line Range 1 meter length | eBay
Cheers for the info all. 6mm ID, good one. I did checkout the Ducati parts manual... Which very helpfully described it as "TUBE".
Try CT moto. I got some last week of his eBay site for about £5. I also asked him to put a couple of extra tube clamps in which he did, FOC. Got it the next day.
I asked at Moto Rapido a few months back and i think the original brake line with 2 clips was about £2. I know you want longer but they may help. I like the clear tubes @Red998 recommended personally.
I've just done this on the 916 and used this from PDQ Brake Reservoir Pipe (1 metre). They also have the pipe clips
I like the clear as you can see any air bubbles or discolouration and so I have it on my front brake and clutch but it doesn't like being bent too sharply and it will kink if you do so. As such I didn't fit it on the rear where things were tighter.
Dragging this one up from depths... Is there a service schedule for the reservoir tubes? Ten years? Pretty sure mine are original on the 916...
Not to my knowledge. If there is no leakage and there is no evidence of ageing not an issue. If it’s a niggle at the back of your mind, not difficult to change but make sure you get the correct grade/spec tubing to replace it. My (UK) dealer sourced a reel and cut to your length as the Ducati part is cut just to length. Andy
