Can anyone clarify the number of both 999R Fila and 999R Xerox bikes that were sold in the UK. Thinking of one of these for the next bike if anyone has one for sale
The Fogarty is a great bike, over the moon with it, just thinking of something else now and the 999R looks like another nice addition
There were supposedly only 200 of each made worldwide https://www.visordown.com/features/top-10s/top-10-limited-edition-ducatis
Year or manufacture 1998 and 202 made, 1 went to Fogarty, 1 went to the museum in Italy and 200 sold to retail
The visor down article ChrisW quoted also states:- The 2004 999R Fila and the 2006 999R Xerox were each made in runs of 200. The 146bhp Fila edition was a celebration of Ducati’s 200th win in WSB. The Xerox version, two years later, was better still with 150bhp and improved suspension. Not too sure how reliable Visor Down’s source is tbh.....
With regards to the foggy reps, Foggy owned no2 and sold it and no1 never went to the museum in Italy as it stayed in the UK. A private collector owned it in the uk and it had zero miles and sold it circa 9 years ago for £26k.
I'm just not sure if this is a current advertisement or an old listing..... https://www.bikeiconics.com/product/916-sps-fogarty-replica-no-001/
Only 200 Filas world wide, Xerox had more I think, around double that of the Fila from memory, thinking of flogging mine but your a little far away.
Yes they bought it for £26k and put it up for sale. They went to buy a Senna and the guy said you might also be interested in this.... how do I know this...I was offered foggy no1 via Ducati Coventry but procrastinated about the price for week and by the time I went back and said I would buy it had sold! I wanted it as I had No1 916SPS (well still have that bike)
I am sure bike Iconics had Fogarty number one for sale 18 months ago and I think it was £59K but sold very quickly
Opportunities are missed all the time in life, i've lost out on many a deal, the one that comes to mind that hurts the most is the Foggy number 04 for under £9k in 2014 i think.
