Folks, I can't find my owners manual and having never owned a Duc afore I don't know how to slacken the chain to remove the sprocket; any advice? Also, whilst the wheel and sprocket are off is it worth changing the cushes? It's an '08 with 7K on the clock. I am assuming that even on a low millage unit the cushes will have perished. What says all of you? Cheers in advance folks. ATB BTD
Cush drive rubbers are likely fine. First thing to know - does it have a “quick release” sprocket or is it standard?
Undo the 2 x large cap head screws set into the rear of the swing arm and use your c-spanner to turn the eccentric hub clockwise to slacken the chain. You might be surprised by the cush drive rubbers but not a biggy to change. Andy
Ooooo...quick release? I am not sure, I do have the two big allen bolts at the back of the swingarm. I did have a wee fiddle with them earlier today as I thought they might be the ones but I stopped prying; I thought it best to check first! So, if I'm hearing this correctly - slacken the two bolts and turn accordingly? Seems simple enough! LOL, famous last words of the Captain of the Titanic when the boss told him to speed up... Cheers lads. Much appreciated. R
Wear a decent pair of gloves when using the c-spanner, concrete mashes knuckles when the spanner slips. Andy
Will do mate cheers. I have already scrapped my knuckle on the concrete wall today ( with accompanying bad language which made the kids giggle) so I will be careful. C spanner? Is it on the bike? I cant say I have noticed.
Should be in your OE tool pouch, probably 6” or 7” long. Happy to put up a picture tomorrow if needs be. Andy
