The Season Is Almost Upon Us......

  1. .......so as Spring has almost sprung and we should be allowed to ride un-surreptitiously from the end of March what are you doing to get “bike fit” and to make sure your kit fits from the off after a year of laying on the sofa eating cakes and banana bread?

And just as importantly is your bike and equipment ready for the off too?

  2. I haven't done anything with the bikes since November as such yet but will look into getting two ready for the March time period, the first two out of the box will be the Superlight & Smart with just pump the tyres up and a oil change for the moment.A new breakfast for me starts with just a banana instead of toast until lunchtime kicks in, also plenty of fast walking and some work commitments for the exercise & maybe start cycling again.

  3. Resetting my relationship with alcohol. That's February done and not a drop... Roll on pissed as fuck March (maybe not:D) I've lost a bit of weight and got a bit fitter. Not gone for the 'leathers' test yet though.

  4. I train 5 days a week in my garage which has been made easier by working from home since lockdown 1 kicked in. Having an hour each night in the garage helps break up the monotony of bed-office-bed!! I have indulged more than usual as there has been fuck all to do at weekends but I’m far from being a fatty, I’ve just got a few extra wobbly bits but I’m sure that wont prevent me from fitting back into my leathers!!

As for the bikes I’ve done nothing with the RSV4 other than start it up occasionally over winter but it’s less than a year old so that will be fine. The monster 1200R is in for a full service and oberon clutch slave cylinder mid march so that will be good to go. The CBR trackbike is having a respray and then I’ll service it in March ready for a trackday in April. The pitbike has been serviced and is good to go.

All I need now is more time and money to use everything!!!

  5. running twice a week, between 4 and 6 miles each time.
Reduced the amount I eat overall and now have a slice of toast for breakfast (wholemeal sourdough because I am proper metropolitan) as opposed to nothing previously which has helped cut out the snacking.
Fruit rather than chocolate for my sweet hit at lunchtime

  6. Been weight training at home (which sucks) since Boris shut the gym, also recently got a spin bike, which is the work of the devil! Started cycling again this year as the weather improves, off for one today as it 'appens.
Not tried the leathers test yet, ought to be ok. Fuck knows when I'll actually ride the bike again, probs when euro travel is permitted.

  7. its the end of april for us at the earliest. which if yer comuting aint too far off the norm anyhoo. no need to cut out the pies as its been the busiest year i have had to date. tho i could be doing with a full makeover anyhoo as everything i have is gubbed.
as for the bikes being ready, i aint getting time for that either. how cool would it be to have a shop i could use without anticipating haveing to sound like an eversincer.

  8. I know I go on about my Fitbit but this week I have lost 6lb using the virtual walk through the Yosemite’s just walking around my house!!!! and leaving food alone
I honestly added every bit of coffee cake that passed my lips
Hopefully now I can fit into my work uniform when I go back :grinning:

I have almost lost a stone

Downloaded another app today Walk the Distance and I’m in Georgia :grinning: passing the starters

  9. Exercise bikes are indeed medieval torture devices at first. But stick with them. Takes about a month to get into it. Work out some interval routines and 45 minutes is way long enough... But music is essential I'd say :):upyeah:

  13. Got round to fitting my battery this morning and fired the old bird up for the first time in 4 months. Next up the removal of last years dead fly/bug collection from the screen and surrounding areas.

  14. Cycle two or three times a week.
Been on furlough for Feb so done all the bike maintenance outstanding (3 x c&s, 2 x belts, 1 x oil/filter + little odds n sods).

  15. Bah, go for a ride in the rain, that will clean them off!

  16. When I first got it I was grinding away for an hr at a time on the bastard thing! I've since found some decent on-line spin classes which are much more interesting/fun.

  18. Been having loads of sex, just don't tell the wife .
Try to cycle a decent amount once or twice a week. Cycle to work every day, its only a couple of miles though.
Alawsys been fairly lucky and eat what I like, have a fairly active job which helps also. Closer to 50 than 40 so that may start to change

  19. I’m a key worker (apparently) with a fairly physical/active job so weight gain isn’t really an issue for me, much to the mrs annoyance. Probably been out walking more as well since lockdown 1 more for the mrs benefit than my own, I do sympathise for those working from home, I’ve done it before in my old job, got a bit fat and went a bit stir crazy!
Started the bike a couple times and took it out in Dec to MOT it but will check the tyre pressures and levels at the weekend and might pop the top box on and go out for some essential shopping.
