  1. I’ve just started a new meetup group called ‘Gloucestershire Motorcycle Socials, Rides and Tours’. The idea is to meet up every now and then for a blather and a pint, organise some ride-outs, a few long weekends and hopefully a tour for next year.

Obviously the current restrictions mean that the socials will have to be via zoom for the next few months and, from a month tomorrow, ride-outs can start but will be restricted to 6 attendees for the time being. Hopefully this will give it time to get off the ground and build into a good thing.

Meetup really saved my bacon a year and a bit ago when I was going through a rough patch, joining various groups (hiking, dog walking, cinema, dining out etc.) I’ve made many great new friends in my newly adopted home town. I’ve got to say it’s changed my life and outlook for the better by quite a margin. So time to put some of that back and also expand my local friendship sphere into the biking community.

So this is a shout-out to any members of the forum in the area that this might be of interest to.

The first zoom social in late March as well as a ride-out for the 17th of April are already scheduled. I only started the group on Friday night and there are already 9 members, acorns and all that…

  3. Are you a member of the Ducati owners club (DOCGB)?

(When circumstances allow) most branches meet at least once a month and have ride outs at least once a week during spring, summer and autumn.

  4. Im up for it @Bumpkin let me know when

  5. Nice one, Charlie :) I'm happy to be TEC if you need me.

  6. Thank you all.

ET, looking for a wider 'church' if the truth be told, diversity is good, even BMWs, and want to make it a local thing. Though by no means does that exclude anyone from further afield joining, though ideally they'd need to participate in person at some point.

  12. Used to live in Kemble and Cirencester. In Weybridge now, but get down there fairly frequently to see friends and enjoy the ride through Burford, Bibury, Barnsley, etc. Always happy to meet if I am down that way :)

  18. I did a ride out in my old trusty Astra before I had passed my test. I had my kids with me and they loved watching the bikes whizz by I think it was Ghostie who lost his glasses out of his pocket.
    Great times :)

  19. Have sent a request (Viv)
