  2. My friend, whose house is on the market, has noticed a rise in the people booking viewings just so they have a legitimate reason for travelling to areas where they shouldn’t and just not turning up.

  3. Makes sense I guess.
Agent said they are all keen so just got to take the risk. It’s an ideal FTB house in a good area, or buy to let investment so fingers crossed.

Hoping for a bidding war to up the price to be honest as I’m convinced it’s £10k too low.

  4. Next door but one put their house on the market with Ewemove a couple of weeks ago and had two full asking price offers within a day. They finally accepted an offer of £5k over the asking price. Andy

  5. Yeah and the press like to keep saying it’s all going tits up and prices are going down...doom gloom.

They have either no idea or no connection to reality.

There’s five years of pent up demand just bursting to move.

  6. The market is crying out for new stock at the minute, especially in Oxted according to the local estate agents.

  7. Not sure about Oxted but the property market is definitely buoyant at the moment.
    Good luck joe.

  8. Many moving from that grubby urban environment to the lush green fields.:upyeah:

  9. Yes it is buoyant presently, partly because of the stamp duty holiday. When that’s eventually pulled I think it’ll dip again but only until people get used to it all again.

Incidentally, on Tuesday night, we and our next door neighbour (only ours in the whole development) had a note letters pushed through the door asking if we’d like to sell our houses. The potential ‘buyers’ had already sold their house and had identified our houses as their (in their words) ‘ideal home’. I assume it’s because our two are the only houses on the development with a south facing back garden.

We thanked them for the interest but declined. :)

  10. This morning I’m going to specsavers (not in Barnard Castle) for an eye test including the OCT test

  11. Well it's that time of year again, with the weather looking inviting down in the south i might just have two back to back very short rides on the PS & SL today.

  19. Well I was in and out in half an hour:upyeah:

I had the OCT test because my dad had glaucoma and I wanted it checking out but the test showed everything is normal so far. And as far as my eyesight is concerned that has deteriorated since I had my last eye test two years ago :upyeah:

  20. Just received an email from the Passport Office saying my new passport is in the hands of TNT for delivery. Have to say I’m pleased, applied on Sunday, acknowledged receipt of old passport, had notification of application approval and that the passport was in printing on Thursday and out for delivery on Friday. Less impressed by Royal Mail taking 3 days to deliver a first class, signed for letter and surprised TNT don’t deliver Passport Office packages on a weekend. The whole process could have taken less than a week but I might be a bit picky there. Andy
