Fork Oil, No Need To Change?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Datboi, Mar 10, 2021.

  1. i have a ducati monster 2004, it's close to hitting 30k km, so i need to change fork oil, however my friend, who worked as a ducati mechanic for many year's, told me i don't need to change the oil unless my fork is leaking, is this true?

  2. No. The oil gets degraded over time and with use will lose some viscosity affecting the damping. In fact Ducati recommend changing the fork oil at 30,000 km.

  3. Change it.

  4. Tbh, I'd probably do seals aswell at that age and milage.
