  1. If you get an invitation letter to go to the NHS website to book, or you jump the gun a little and just try the URL and find that vaccination for your age group is available, then you can book both 1st and 2nd jabs. These will be at one of the national vaccination centres across the country. They're somewhat regional and can be some distance away.

If you get an invitation from local surgery group via text then you will go to a more local centre run by that group. You won't be able to book your 2nd jab but they will contact you when it's due in the same way and arrange your appointment.

If, like me, you get the NHS letter but wait for a text it should be in the following week or two. My letter arrived on Saturday, appointments available for the end of next week but in Bristol, Birmingham or Malvern. The latter isn't too far to drive, about 45 mins, but my local surgery group centre is ten minutes walk. Waiting for the text and could well actually get the jab around the same time as apparently lead times are shorter.

  2. What is their thing with Malvern? Somebody in my town said that they were offered Malvern - about 40 miles away. Do the people of Malvern all not want the jab?

  3. Nothing has been arranged for my second vaccination as yet

  4. They are mass vaccination sites

  5. I had my bloods checked Friday and they showed low neutrophils and platelets and calcium. My immune system has certainly reacted and that could well be why I felt so awful for 4 weeks and fatigued
I have low levels of the above due to intensive chemo that a normal person would have
I was told I should have reported my side effects to my doctor and I’m a bit anxious about having the second.
I will have a conversation about it.

  6. This happened with my mum, then this week she got her appointment through the post inviting her for her second vaccination this Saturday.
I’m guessing if you haven’t heard by now you will do very soon.
    I booked mine online.

  8. What a joke, get a text message from the NHS telling me to book my vaccine appointment, the NHS site tells me I don’t exist according to their records.

How’d they get my phone number........must have been a lucky guess on their part.

  9. De - population...:eyes:

  10. It's at Malvern Showground. Ideal location as it has covered buildings easily accessible from plenty of on-site parking. It's a hub in the national covid vaccine program. This is separate to the more local network of centres organised by cooperating doctors surgeries in your area. It's a bit chaotic as they don't seem very well coordinated between the two systems but it makes sense when trying to immunise as many people as possible.

  11. :(

  12. Just had mine today, waited till I got txt from local surgery then went to my local vaccination centre, 5 mins away.
No problem, no fuss nothing felt as yet.

  14. Had my first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine today at my GP in Nantes, France. I got an email from the French NHS on Tuesday telling me to logon to their portal and read a message for me. The message told me to contact my GP about being vaccinated. So I did that and was told that they had 30 doses this week and I could have mine on Friday afternoon. I will have my second dose in 3-4 weeks.

I got a text message from the U.K. NHS today telling me to book my covid vaccination, due to my underlying health condition. It looks like I’ll get both doses in France sooner than I would have in the U.K.

  15. Wait til tomorrow. :D

Had mine on Wednesday and was fine all day. yesterday morning i woke up so tired i could barely function.

By lunchtime i didn't have the strength to sit upright for long so had my second lie down of the day. Woke up mid afternoon feeling a little better and by the evening was almost back to my normal self. Been fine today.
I have to say i have never felt exhaustion quite like that before.

  16. I'm still waiting for my call up, but looking at the very long queuing at different outlets when floating about....no thanks until they speed up the process.

  17. Had text today, booked for next Tuesday, I’m 50 with no health issues...... wonder what dose I’ll get....

  18. There were 50 people in front of me but I was still in and out in 15 minutes. I couldn't believe how quick the queue went down.

  20. OH received her text notification tonight. Again from procare. Not sure if same where you are @XH558 but we had choice of timings and locations here (Guildford) so could go for more rural locations and a 1st thing appointment to minimise the queue. 1 in the queue ahead of me and in and out in prob just over 5 mins.
