It’s for occasional use for buffing up alliminium and exhausts as well as some grinding work. Should I go with the close wheel type or the extended arm? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150W-Ben...994205?hash=item3ff063875d:g:QFQAAOSwFetf~wWJ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-150mm-...089261?hash=item5d89fe176d:g:yOAAAOSwoQZf2z7C
I would think that the extended arm type would be more useful for getting into the curves of exhaust pipes and other intricately shaped things but 150W doesn't seem to be enough power.
I have a 150W bench grinder with a 150mm buffing wheel on it. You can do bolt heads and small items given time but to do a exhaust would take forever. It's quite easy to stall. I would hazard a guess and say 1000 W and a larger wheel would be sufficient for the odd exhaust.
Something like this ? https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/12153-holzmann-dsm150ps-polishing-machine/ Andy
I put a conversion kit ( just a sleeve with the taper for mop which slips over shaft and is held on with grub screw) on a 350w bench grinder and it does the polishing ok ,but the grinder is a bit gutless when grinding with enthusiasm. Would say 350w minimum and a bit more would be nice.
feeling lazy I bought this recently and does the job, spoilt for choice really. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-B...852766&hash=item2f16cedcb2:g:YVsAAOSwL4xfGAYW
