Awfully sad news and a big loss to the automotive world. She deserves her own thread. rest in peace Sabine. A great character. A very sad day.
Far too young an age, what a shit few days/weeks its been for sport in general. Rest in peace lovely lady.
What a great lady and racing driver, 2 x winner of the Nurburging 24 hr. Tragic loss and so young, rest in peace.
That V10 M5 was made for her. It spent more time going sideways when she was behind the wheel ! Had plenty of enjoyable evenings in the PK over the years, the entire 'Ring community will be devastated. Far too young an age to leave us. RIP
Sad news. Cancer really is a bitch. My ex-wife has c that does not seem to respond to the chemo. Thing is: I got smashed to f... but it is under my power to recover and my choice to fight. With C that choice is taken away.
Just saw this sad news. Sabine seemed like such a great person, RIP. She was was the only woman to win the Nürburgring 24 Hours — and did it twice You are right she does deserve her own farewell thread. All these people do imo @El Toro . Otherwise they all get jumbled up, anecdotes get lost, especially when more than one person had died recently. Just a thought.
In the first try, she overtook at least one bike. Imagine the embarrassment of being overtaken by a Transit when you are riding like a god on your bike at the 'ring! On my first trip there, a guy that I didn't know came with us and was also on a Ducati. He managed to shut the place and ended up in hospital. The place just blew me away. You got to Germany which is such a well-ordered country. On roadworks on some autobahn, there was a 80kph speed limit that everyone obeys meticulously. From there, you end up at the 'ring where carnage rules. I once spent three days there with the track only open for about 3 hours over three days. There was at least one fatality. An insane place in the most well-ordered country in the world. So sad. She thrives at the 'ring but loses to c.
