Driving a transit van on Top Gear - "out ov za vay... oaf on an English motorcycle..." - always makes me smile. That, and the look on Clarkson's face when she says "I do zat lap time in a VAN!" I wonderful character who will be sadly missed...
RIP Sabine. Great lady, role model and top Racing Driver! Like @PerryL said earlier, I had the privilege of following her (briefly) at the Nordschleife whilst she drove the V10 M5 Ring Taxi for paying guests. Laughed my socks off at her hustling fast cars and bikes out of the way and then putting the Ring Taxi sideways mid corner on many corners until I lost sight of her. She always carried a smile and acknowledged a wave from the paddock area, no pretentions and encouraging towards others there.
A true force of nature and a very talented and likeable lady. Why does it always seem to happen to the good people?
First race of the season out here on Saturday. Sabine’s husband and team have decided to carry on as was originally planned and enter three cars in the race. Sadly spectators are excluded from the race but it’s going to be streamed online. Should Sabine’s car manage to take the victory in the race. There will be a few tears in the paddock.
