It must be me, but I am heartily sick of people considering themselves famous and the piss-poor BBC trying to legitimise, fecking self-indulgent YouTubers. I've given up with it now and concluded it is rubbish and a waste of time. I need no more, "look at me! look at me! I'm famous, I am!" clips.

  2. By talking about them you simply give them more credence

  3. My kids watch you tubers, when my youngest used to watch a kid build Lego and discuss it (yes really) I googled this kid, he “earned” over $25M as a you tuber, he was 9 years old

  4. PerryL, I have blocked a few people on here, but so far haven't with you as I believe you are deep down probably on ok guy that has had some bad times of late.
But please do us a favour. Look on the bright side of life, and stop ranting about anything that doesn't fit with your immediate view of the world.
Chill out for fucks sake! It will be good for all of us.

  6. Well, I would never ever say "ban it". If your kids like it and it doesn't cost anything then fine - live and let live. I am just mystified by why the BBC considers YouTubers important...If have got bit fed up with YouTubers borrowing demo bikes to "review", Demo bikes are there for potential customers to try. We have a bike press and they are professionals who are given bikes to review, for this is what they do - like MCN, Bike, Bennetts, etc I would prefer leaving reviewing to professional journalists, rather than self-qualified "YouTube stars".

  7. The hardest part for tubers is content and keeping their viewers engaged, my lad watches youtubers when he’s not otherwise engaged. He used to watch a few game tubers but only the very best survived his attention span.

  8. I watch 44teeth do you dislike them? I consider their output as entertainment thats bike oriented. Now these people at Bennett's & MCN I have little faith in as they are driven by advertising revenues.

But all in all life's too short to think about any of them for long!

  9. I gave up with 44 Teeth a while ago. Advertising does seem to rule everything these days.

  10. The times change Perry. Our elders never understood us or our fads either. I’m afraid that all you have identified is that you have become old. It happens. It is better to just shrug and go meh. Don't fear what you don’t understand. Embrace it, theres actually some interesting stuff there if you look past the dross.

  11. You could try public service broadcasting? Oh yeah you hate them too (the BBC not the band, although you probably have an opinion on them too)

  12. I spend as much time on YouTube as normal tv these days. Imagine having to create interesting content several times a week?!

  13. There are some interesting vloggers out there, depends on your tastes and needs. Can't please everyone all of the time. Just ignore/don't watch what you don't like, easy.

  17. Most Youtuber's nowadays are filling the time with too many adverts. Watched 1 with Collecting Cars and in 14 minutes, it had been filled with atleast 4 Ads and still had 17 mins still to go. It's becoming ridiculous and then recently we had the GR Yaris Tuber who wanted a £25K brand deal amongst other demands. Safe to say that this appeared to have backfired hugely and some other YT's condemned it publicly.

  18. I haven't an opinion. My opinions bore me. TV-wise, I am just doing Netflix, my own dvds and Blu-ray.

On the subject of my accident compensation, I am getting and sending taxi receipts to my sol. I was going to ask for opinions on it, but I have answered my own question. Good is this forum. It reads my mind!!!!

  19. I spend a lot of time on Utube...Just gotta pick ya poison.

  20. Time and a place for YouTube..

As well as watching ( too many) new bike test launches and other bike related stuff, I find where YouTube really comes into its own is with tutorial videos..
I fixed the daughters dishwasher after searching YouTube

My mate bought a VFR 1200 ( don’t ask! ) and didn’t have a clue how to get the fairing off to wire his sat nav up, a couple of minutes search on YouTube and we were sorted!

Always wanted a custom ring tone on my iPhone and found a tutorial on YouTube that an old Luddite like me could follow, ..I now have the excellent 30 seconds long intro from the Sex Pistols “ Pretty Vacant” for my ring tone, sounds absolutely banging when it’s connected to the car stereo and it goes off o_O !!

The wife however thinks I’ve lost the plot.....” how old are you” : unamused:!...:D:D
