Just remove the bar which goes across the top to hold the battery in. Undo the terminals and the battery will tip forward. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oovvHarMWkPaVNsF-h81WJpwkCZ7leyI/view?usp=drivesdk And this will come in handy!
The pair of you are legends, I had the fairing off, battery brace etc off yesterday with no issues, terminals are undone. So just tip it forward and it'll come out. Brilliant, cheers!
My battery died about 100 miles away from home and while on the middle of a windswept, disused airfield in winter. A mate and I tried to bump my 1199 but just got rear wheel lock-up and absolutely no signs of starting. We only tried a few times then just waited for a recovery van with a jumper pack.
Attach your multimeter leads to the battery terminals (measuring Volts), turn the ignition on and press the starter button briefly. You will see a voltage drop across the battery. Ideally the reading should still be 12. something volts although the minimum is I believe 11.9V. Andy
