Blue & Silver 900ss Bevel Spotted In Beverley, East Riding Today!

Discussion in 'Vintage' started by bigredduke, Mar 30, 2021.

  1. I was taking my Monster 1100 Evo for it's MOT today & noticed the above coming towards me heading towards Walkington just before 2pm. It was at a mini-roundabout junction so too much traffic for acknowledgement. First Ducati I ever rode in about 1979 or 1980 and have never forgotten the experience.
    Was it anyone on here?

  2. Not me, but I wish it was, just love an early bevel

  3. Could have been Ray Dudding, doesn't he have one?

  4. I know Ray. He has a Hailwood replica but not sure about a blue & silver 900ss

  5. Think he does.

  6. After setting off happily on the 350 Desmo which promptly misfired its arse off, and then returning and patiently drawing the 860GT from its sheath and having the speedo and horn conk out on that I'm about ready to set fire to my Bevels...

  7. Ray is a man of many machines... some of them quite surprising.

  8. Also I haven't seen you out and about on a Smart... I'd have noticed one of those and they're lovely. Are you a Seaways or a Willy Woods or a Squires visitor any time? Would love a nosy at that. :)

  9. The PS only moved out of the garage last year to be serviced & then it was trailered! TBH I tend to avoid the above places, especially at weekends. I tend to pootle about mid-week when it's quieter.
Hopefully (if it goes ahead) there is an Italian day scheduled at Newby Hall on 30th May 2021 with plenty of cars & bikes to drool over. Italian Cars and Bikes Rally at Newby Hall & Gardens. I should be going to that.

  10. Whereabouts are you?

  11. East Yorkshire native now exiled in North Lincolnshire, little village just near Kirton Lindsey :)

  12. Ah! I go through KL if I go to Lincoln avoiding the dreaded A15. Nice parallel route just West of the A15, comes out in Burton if memory serves.

  13. Its a nice ride along the Cliff Top road, as us natives (I'm also near KL) call it, from Scunthorpe to Lincoln although the town & city at each end are not that interesting.
Back on topic, there used to be a truck driver who frequently visited my workplace a few years ago who had a 900 bevel and an SPS, so we used to talk bikes a bit, I never asked what colour his bevel was so it might have been Derek from Drifiield way.

  14. For any non-natives... watch out on Cliff Top road for numerous side-roads as there are a couple of hidden dips with junctions in them and near Willoughton, approaching from Lincoln end, there is what looks like a left... it's a right with a t-junction on it. :)

Are we back on with bike meets in Snitterby after the 12th? @98 SPS

@Fire3500 yes all being well, Snitterby on 2nd Tuesday evenings should be back on. If the weather is favourable, some months, we may go o Brigg Riverside & get refreshments from the chippy instead of or before heading to the Royal Oak at Snitterby.
